First of all, isn't it a lot harder to TyPe LiKe ThIs? It would take longer to make a post that way.

Anyhoo...

You click on the button to get into your Control Panel. You go to the "Edit Profile" tab to put in a signature (NO SIGNATURE PICTURES ARE ALLOWED), and to "Edit Options" to change your avatar (that's what the "side thing" is called). Once you get to the "Edit Options" page there, you have to scroll down to the bottom of the page and you will see a button that says "Change Avatar". You can change it from there

Did you have a quote or something in your sig? We aren't allowed to have sig pics in our signature, just quotes or whatever you can come up with

Yeah...Like MMG said, it only shows up once per page...The main admin (TJ) has it set so everybody's sigs only show up once per page. This was done in the summer of 2003.
