Default Sitcoms Characters Actors that have passed away

I was surprised to find out that one of my favorite shows, What's happening!! on how many of the actors on that show have passed away, including the recent death of Fred "rerun" Berry in 2003...Berry died in 2003 and also gone is the mother, Shirley and the actor who played Mr. Thomas (Raj and Dee's father)...

I know this is somewhat of a depressing topic but is there any favorite characters on your favorite shows that are now in Television heaven...

Michelle Thomas(Myra) from "Family Matters". She died of cancer less than a year after the series ended in 1998. She was only 23 or 24 I think

Of course... Carroll O'Connor of "All in the Family"

Robert Stack, host of "Unsolved Mysteries"

Glenn Quinn(Mark, Becky's boyfriend) from "Roseanne". He died of a drug overdose a couple of years ago. I believe he was only 28 or 29.

I'm sure there are more... this is all I can think of right now off the top of my head.

I think a better name for this thread would be sitcom actors who've passed away as opposed to characters. With that in mind, here are a few not yet mentioned:

Ted Bessell--That Girl
Merlin Santana--Steve Harvey Show
Dana Plato--Diff'rent Strokes
Andy Kaufman--Taxi
Zara Cully--Jeffersons
Tom Villard--We Got It Made
Jester Hairston--Amen
Cathryn Damon--Soap
Richard Mulligan--Soap/Empty Nest
Nell Carter--Gimme A Break
Christopher Hewett--Mr. Belvedere
Rebecca Schaefer--My Sister Sam
Merritt Butrick--Square Pegs
Helen Martin--227
Michael Cuccione--2Gether
Heather O'Rourke--Happy Days
Florence Stanley--Fish
Gordon Jump--WKRP In Cincinnati

plus a favorite of mine from the movie/tv show Fame--Gene Anthony Ray. Rest in peace.

Sad

There are so many great stars that have passed away but the one I'll always be upset about is John Ritter.

Also upsetting that Vic Tayback(Alice) is no longer around as well as Ted Knight. I know there are more but I am losing my memory as the clock strikes 1am.
