Default Rent increase?

I seem to recall that their rent was $300, yet I saw an episode recently that stated the rent was $500 (the ep with Jack and the leather coat).

Was the rent ever $300, and if so, was the rent increase ever mentioned on the show?

ya i think it was mentioned. well furley said in i think it was furley vs. furley(the one where he moves in with the trio cause he gets fired) that at the end he was gonna raise their rent to help pay for something. but i could be wrong.

The rent increase jingle went like this Janice by Mr. Furley

Money's no problem ladies and gent

I talked to Bart and we are raising your rent

LOL, and they weren't shy about raising it either. That was quite a hike.

The increase from $300 to $500 over eight years is not too bad considering the rent on my one-bedroom went from $750 to $1535 between '94 and '02!!!

It was probably increased due to time passing by. Just like in real-life, prices change as the years go by, so the Furleys may have hiked the rent from tax increases from the government.
