Default Saw the commercial for L&S on Lifetime today!

It's real, it's really coming to Lifetime!

They showed the commercial this morning and I'm SO excited ))

It won't get here fast enough!

On my left, I saw days upon days of lipstick and ticking clocks, dirty looks and quiet whisperings. And burning secrets that just won't ever die away. And on my right, what could I picture? The blue sky, the desert earth, stretching out into the eerie infinity. A beautiful never-ending nothing.

Don;t get too excited because they are still edited episodesbut it's still good to have it back in syndication.

How long is an unedited episode of Laverne and Shirley?

I could care less if they are edited or not. My kid loves this show and so do I, I can't wait until we can watch and tape it every day.

But do recall that when the Golden Girls came to Lifetime in March 1997, the episodes had been re-edited from the versions that had been seen in syndication. Thus, these episodes of Laverne & Shirley on Lifetime may provide us with scenes that we haven't seen a quite some time.

The versions shown on TV Land a few years ago were definitely different from the versions that were shown in broadcast syndication. I wonder if Lifetime will get the TV Land versions or the syndicated versions, or will they have Paramount come up with new versions for them. Should be interesting to see.

The TV Land versions have a shortened theme song for the first season episodes only, so that may be a clue.

I'll also be curious to see if Lifetime ponies up the cash to show the episode "Citizen Krane", which was withdrawn from syndication due to the cost of music rights clearances.

When you say shortened, do you mean TV LAND doesn't show L&S walking down the street in the very beginning of the opening credits

We saw the extended themesong; the long version, not the shortened version TV Land used a few years ago.

Mostly the portions that were edited out were additional shots of the gang dancing in the Pizza Bowl.

Definitely new prints -- they look clearer than the ones used on TV Land a few years ago. In addition to the full theme used on the first season episodes, the Paramount logo at the end has the accompanying music, as opposed to on TV Land, where there was no music accompanying the logo. I don't know how actual episode length measures up, though, and am not familiar enough with each episode to see how different the edits acutally are.

I remember when "The Brady Bunch" moved from TBS to Nick (and later TV Land), the edits were noticably different, with scenes not seen since the ABC airings (or the first syndication cycle in the 70s) making it back in, while other scenes were newly cut. Different cable channels have different episode length requirements, and the shows are edited accordingly.

What do you mean by clearer than TV LAND?
