Default Are the DVD episodes uncut or edited?

The reason why I'm asking is because I'm watching the DVD and it SEEMS to me that some of the episodes are edited. I could be wrong, but anybody else notice it. If you need an example, I would be happy to give it.

What makes you think that the eps are edited? And how would you know if you didn;t watch the show during it's original run?

That's why I'm asking because I am not sure. In the episode, "Speak for Yourself Dwayne," The final scene opens up with Raj, Rerun and Dwayne sitting on a couch in Raj's living room. You hear Rerun tell Dwayne to cut it out, but we don't see what Dwayne did for Rerun to say that.

I don't know if I want to buy the DVD after hearing that.

They are unedited, at least the Time Life versions. Who knows how the Sony version is. Mine are all like 24-26 minutes each in length (Yes, SOLOMON, opening/ending credits COUNT in time length).

It could be the way it orginally aired on network TV. I'm not sure though. The DVD is still great though.

Why not airdate order?

1st because ABC did a lot of postponing of episodes during the 1st season and second, this 1st season box set isn't even in airdate order. Finally, I prefer watching all shows in production order, it's the order they were filmed and the most logical way to watch shows. Of course there's always a few exceptions, such as Good Times 2nd season, I will watch Part 2 directly after Part 1, naturally.

I have the Time-Life version released last year. Assuming boechsner has the recently released retail version, I decided to compare the episode lengths on my set with his. They're pretty much the same, just a one or two second difference, which I think has more to do with dvd time display on different players than any missing footage. Here are episode lengths from my Time-Life version, disc 1 only:

The Runaway 24:39
The Birthday Present 25:10
When Daddy Comes Marching Home 24:26
My Three Tons 24:59
Saturday's Hero 24:46
The Burger Queen 25:24
Speak for Yourself, Dwayne 25:00
