Question What are the lessons you've learned from FOL

I've leared the value of a good friend. I've learned how to push myself to doing what I believe in. I've learned new words. I've learned new respect. And I've learned so much more.
What about you?

I've learned that things do change(New York, New York), you are what you are, new words (like you Max), and in any senario, you take the good and the bad.

I'm not too sure if FOL has really taken that much effect on my life..but it has taught me how to record on my VCR, make copies of tapes, how to fit a TV show into my daily schedule...lol. But i guess in a way FOL kinda gives me a little more backbone when it comes to standing up for myself

Talking

O my gosh, I've learned so much from FOL I don't always remember what I learn from FOl and what I learned from other tv shows but I have learned new words(Like a bunch of other people) and I've learned that it's better to let your feelings out than to not tell anyone or not do anything about them!(Molly's Holiday)I've also learned that your friends should always be there for you and if they're not then they're not really good friends!

I've learned a lot about friendships/relationships, being yourself, growing up, dealing with change, and it's also made me realize things about myself.

I've learned about how to deal with friends, situtations that you go through in life, growing up, how to deal with bad situtations, and lots of other things - no other show taught me as much as this one did.

I have to say this that even though I have tried like crazy to live the good Christian life as Lisa has wanted, I still have to say that the biggest contribution that the Facts of Life has given me is that... "When the world doesn't seem to be living up to your dreams, suddenly you're finding out the Facts Of Life are all about you." I guess the Fact is that The Facts Of Life are for people who have tried and failed and have been able to pick up their lives and go on feeling good about themselves and who they are.
Christians SAY they accept everyone--as part of that line or schpiel that they're supposed to say. But if I were to meet them on the street tomorrow, (GOD, PLEASE MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!!) I bet Blair, Natalie, Tootie and Jo would accept me off the bat, because
I'm just like them... The Facts Of Life provides the big picture of how life should be lived. Of course, as a Christian, I am not being critical of the Christian life, but there IS a downside. Too many times we have been so unloving and judgemental and arrogant to those different from us. I have seen on the Facts what happens when the girls go through that necessary change and how they become better people. The Facts is even more Christian than the church. The church merely assumes change and superiority without question. But I say art succeeds over dogma.

BTW, in case anyone was wondering, the picture under my name is that of the band Black Sabbath.

Well it's taught me to deal with my friends better and to stick up for myself. I seem to act like Jo alot. (Is that good?) And also a friend is forever. You have to deal with tough situations. LIke others said, new words, new feelings, a better realationship with myself and other people. I don't know anyother show that could have taught me so much. I love learning new things and I love watching tv so FOL for eva!

Interesting Tad, I would have guessed Jethro Tull or something!!
I never paid attention to what a band looked like in the 70's, just listened to the music. You could show me a photo of Lynard Skynard today and I wouldn't know who they were. Sad huh? Well, at least I appreciate the music though!

Default re: Jethro Tull

Hey Eva, here's a little bit of rock trivia for ya: Didja know that
TONY IOMMI (on the far right hand side of the picture) was BRIEFLY a member of Jethro Tull before getting back with Black Sabbath in the late '60's?? True!! Btw, another bit of rock trivia for everyone: on the last work day before hitting the road with Black Sabbath in the late 60's, Tony Iommi (the group's guitar player, of course) accidentally got his fingertips snipped off by a machine!! He had to learn to play guitar with plastic dealies on his fingers, and in so doing, REDEFINED ROCK & ROLL with his
cool and creepy detuned style of guitar playing. WE AT THE FACTS OF LIFE ONLINE SITE SALUTE TONY IOMMI, ONE OF THE GREAT PIONEERS OF HEAVY METAL!!!! And I am sure that all of you who followed Lisa's chat last week would agree, her son Tucker, who is learning to play guitar for his own band, would do very well to learn his guitar stylings--BECAUSE WHAT MUSIC STORE DOESN'T HAVE SOMEONE TRYING TO PLAY "IRON MAN"????
