Post News on Dammit.....

Just wanted to let y'all know that Chris (Dammit) is MIA. I just found out this weekend. His wife was visited by an ombudsman and a Chaplain at her house Friday morning. She started making phone calls a few hours later after the initial shock wore off.

You're not gonna see this story in the papers or anything so don't look. He's a spook...aka Recon. He's and his unit have been officially missing for 6 days now (since last Monday).

For those of you that believe in a higher being...keep him and his unit in your prayers. For those of you that don't, then please just keep them in your thoughts.

Oh no! I don't pray much, but I'll pray that they're all found safe.

They don't know. When they sent a group in to their last known location they found their primary weapons, ALOT of spent amo and blood, and their radio headsets. It doesn't look good. The best news at this point is that there have been no bodies flouted around on the news from Afghanastan (where his wife believes he was based on the conversation they had before his mission).

When she asked what the last transmission was, the Chaplain told her it was Chris saying "Oh f*ck!" then the radio went dead. That was late Monday if I remember correctly.

To say the least she's a bit upset.

I'll pass on your message about hoping he's okay to his wife. I'm sure she'll appreciate it.

OMG that's awful! I will definately be praying for him and his unit, constantly, until they are found.

I remember when he left, proud to serve his country.

I will keep him and his unit in my prayers.

On my left, I saw days upon days of lipstick and ticking clocks, dirty looks and quiet whisperings. And burning secrets that just won't ever die away. And on my right, what could I picture? The blue sky, the desert earth, stretching out into the eerie infinity. A beautiful never-ending nothing.

Well, spook is a term used for any special forces unit that the public MIGHT see the outcome of their work but will never know that they are the ones that did it. Most if not all of their missions are Top Secret. Recon is the type of unit he is in. Navy has the S.E.A.L.'s, Army has the Ranger's and Marine's have Recon.

They go behind the enemy lines alone with no backup. They are each other's backup. A team (depending on the mission and unit) can have anywhere from 6-12 members. We're not sure how many of the group were out for this mission, but it was a minimum of 6 of the group missing.

The thing is, if he or anyone in his group is killed, the family will never know how. They are usually told it was a training accident. It's a hard life, but his unit was good. Prior to this they have never had a casualty which is VERY rare. We're all praying that is still the case.

I'll keep him in my thoughts too. This must be very stressful to his family and friends.

Yeah it is. I'll try to keep y'all updated as we find things out. We're all praying that he and his unit are just laying low for whatever reason and will make their way back to friendly areas soon.
