This is so weird!! In the first episode of Full House, DJ moves into the garage because she does not want to share a room with Stephanie. Later Jesse bribes her to go back to her room with money.

Jesse bribes her:

Jesse: Ten
DJ: Forty nine.
Jesse: A buck? You went down to a buck?
DJ: Ok, now it's back to fifty.

Why would he say that if DJ didn't even say a buck?

It even says it in the script on www.full-house.org

I checked the script on Full-House.org, and the whole segment goes like this:

Jesse: Nah! All right, I’ll speak the language you understand. Five bucks if you’ll move

back.

DJ: Fifty.

Jesse: Ten.

DJ: Forty-nine.

Jesse: A buck? You went down a buck?

DJ: Okay, it’s back up to fifty.

Jesse: All right, my final offer : twenty bucks.

DJ: Twenty-one. Vanessa’s waiting...

It makes sense. Unless you're taking about the fact that you saw it on TV and it only started with those lines you posted. In that case, the first few lines must have been cut.

D.J. was at 50. She went down to 49. 50-1=49. She went down one.

...I don't know if this is the case, but maybe you are unaware of the slang term "a buck?" 1 buck means 1 dollar here in the U.S....but other than that, yes 50-1=49 and that means she went down "a buck."

Oh, yeah, sorry! I get it. She went down A buck. I misunderstood him I guess. I thought he said she went down to one dollar, but she didn't really. I know she ment she went down one buck.
