My mother is insane - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I'm serious. Today, my sister wasn't waiting outside for her when she went to pick her up from a friends house, so she went completely crazy, and drove my sister around in the car for two hours, not telling her where they were going. Then my mom came back to our town and parked about a mile from my house, so my sister called me on her cell and told me she'd start walking and to meet her half way. Then my mom finds out and says "Lauren can walk all the way down here, but we'll be gone." and drove away. My sister's phone died, so I ended up walking a mile to meet her for no reason.

Well there's more. My mom continued to drive around, and told my sister she wouldn't stop driving until she learned respect. My sister had her phone changer, so she charged her phone for 15 minutes without my mother knowing and called her friend to come pick her up [my mom had parked the car again] And my mom did the same thing she did with me and drove AN HOUR away from our house! My dad was seriously considering calling the cops... [he was at work]. During all of this she was randomly reaching back and hitting my sister in the backseat of the car! The craziest thing is she came home and admitted to doing this, and thought it was okay. I can't believe her.

Some parents just don't realize what they're doing, I think. My dad gets crazy sometimes. He's really stubborn, and if he doesn't get his way he'll repeat himself over and over and yell for the longest time. And in the car, that's the worst. Sometimes he'll pull over in the car asking non-stop questions about things when he's mad about something. I guess he gets especially pissed at me because I'm a lot like my mom. He screams and yells about the littlest things, too. It's scary, too, the way he yells. Like...for a lot of people suffer from physical abuse, my mom, sister and me suffer from mental abuse...how my mom's always wrong and good for nothing, and how my sister and me are lazy and lots of other things.

And ya know what? He doesn't even mean to hurt us. Most of the time he's trying to help us. I know it sounds crazy, it's just sometimes some people get out of hand without even realizing it.

As of less than an hour ago, he was yelling at me for making the smallest mistakes doing the dishes. Then he kept bitching about how im so unpleasant to the world and i try to get attention by acting like obsessive-complulsive and everything.. whatever. so i was telling him how much i hate myself and how i'd be better off dead and he just said that if i dont change my negative attitude about myself, the world, everyone i know etc he'll just send me away so i can live somewhere else. Thanks dad, i hate you too.

I wondered the same thing. I mean, all she did was being late. Not like she was caught shoplifting. Why go that nuts over it?

I don't know. My mom is a great person, but she has panic attacks and mood swings and gets extremely mad over nothing. I know she is sorry about doing what she did, she just loses her head. I use to deal with it, but now it's getting pretty bad... she does it way to often, I just wish she'd go get help.

I'm sure you've heard the term "turning into your parents". Here's hoping you or your sister doesn't eventually "turn" into your mom.

Ugh... today I'm hearing new stories. My mom gave my sister a hard time for not being outside so my sister started swearing at her. That's what made her mad, but my sister never told me that part till this morning....

Anyways, I still don't think my mom had a right to do what she did, but I know it wasn'y completely her fault.
