I just got 4 sample episodes from my recent vacation from Days Inn of 4 Columbia Tri-Star (Sony Pictures) shows: Episode 1 of The Jeffersons, Episode 2 of Married...With Children, Episode 1 of Soap, and some episode of King of Queens. What I am wondering is how long is episode one of The Jeffersons on the season one DVD? In this sample DVD I have it at a little over 26 minutes, about 26:13 or so, according to the timer on my DVD player. Can anyone check or can anyone tell what "new" scenes there are from the Nick@Nite/TV Land versions? I can't really remember what scenes they edited out, after watching this episode.

I have not watched N@N's version of the first episode in 3 years but the scenes they cut out I think is the scene in the very beginning with Mr. Bentley and Diane in the Hallway. Also after George kicks Tom and Helen out the apt, N@N does not show the scene with Helen talking to Tom in the Hallway. The exact length of the episode is 24:20. You must have 26:13 because you included the opening and closing credits. |

I don't see how that can be when it has nothing to do with the episode |

Can you give me an intelligent answer as to why the opening and closing credits should be counted when detemining a length of a certain episode? |

You are dead wrong on this. The credits ARE part of the episode package. |

And don't forget, some shows in the past have resorted to having opening/closing credits that are integrated into the show..IE: there will be a final, after-the-climax scene, in which they'll roll credits over. (And some shows *have* done the same with the exposition and the opening creds)
