Default Epi. Discussion #001 A Man About The House

The thing I love most about TV series discussion is to talk about the episodes! It's always interesting to see, what other people like or hate about a certain episode... or if there is a special scene or a quote they love, and so on!

So I thought I would occasionally start a thread about an episode and we could share our feelings about it (and also vote for them)!

So, let's get started! What do you like about the first episode? Or can't you stand it because of Janet's hairdo or Chrissy's intelligence?

Feel free to talk about it!

I so agree w/u!!! I love to read other view's comments on TC! SUPER GREAT IDEA!

I really like this epi! It's really funny! I love Janet's hair style! It's super cute! And Chrissy looks really pretty too! And acts normal! I like her that way! Funny but smart! And Jack is really cute on it! The Ropers!!! OMG I love Mrs. Roper on this epi! And Mr. Roper! too!!!! Actually I think that they Roper were the funniest on this epi! I love their clothes too! The girls clothes were very cute! I mostly like Janet's shirt! and she is wearing earings!!!YAY!and Jack looked so cute too! Like an AE model! or something!

I really like this episode... 2nd best episode of the 1st season! Everything seems to be perfect in this one! This is the Chrissy I like most: she's bright, sophisticated and not acting like a dumb egg! Wish, she would have stayed so! I also think that the Ropers were hilarious! Mr. Roper's breast picking with Patricia was very funny! This is actually my most favorite scene of the episode!

Patricia (while running out): He did not even say 'Please!'

great pilot, but compared to the yet-to-come three's company episodes, it gets an 8.

I gave it a 10 because not only did it start our love of TC, but I really liked the "Smart Chrissy". The "Dumb Chrissy" was . I didn't really like the whole Patricia thing... I mean, she was pretty (sorta) and all... But, the voice was annoying... I guess they didn't have any money to get someone good, but, it brought a point (is that good English?).

>>Or can't you stand it because of Janet's hairdo or Chrissy's intelligence?<<

Funny, Mykoon...

Actually, I didn't mind Janet's hair... It looked natural and almost brown, not shoe-polish black like later on...

>>and she is wearing earings!!!YAY!<<

You mean, Janet, right? I have earrings like those, in gold & silver . I LOOOOVE them!

I found it strange that Jack wanted to shave so bad that he'd be willing to use anything. He cut his face up and everything because he couldn't wait 'till he got back to the Y. (I think that was on the first episode, wasn't it?) I find it fascinating to compare daily life now and then. I give it a 10 though; a really funny and interesting ep.

I prefer the dumb Chrissy. The smart sophisticated Chrissy was boring. She was a more colorful character when she had the bangs in front of her face and had the glazed over look in her eyes all the time.

She acted dumb in the piolet.

Jack:Can you boil an egg?
Chrissy:I don't know,Eleanor always did the cooking

Jack:That's alright I'll make my own
Chrissy:That's silly, nobody makes bread crumbs they just sort of fall off the bread

Your right Jackhammer but it was a cute dumb! Not a total dummy! (not trying to be rude)

Hey Jackhammer, don't forget:

Jack: Mind if I eat in my boots?
Chrissy: I'd rather you eat off the table!

I'm watching the first episode on DVD as I type, and I think it's a pretty good episode. I gave it either an 8 or a 9 (I don't remember now). It does a good job of introducing the characters, and I thought a lot of the lines were hilarious. In particular, I really enjoyed the scenes with Patricia and the Ropers.

I also like the smarter Chrissy from seasons 1 - 3 (IMO, she didn't get really ditzy until season 4). I don't think she was really dumb in the episodes at all -- she just had a Circuitous route to knowledge.

For sure. If I were to get too drunk at a party and pass out in the bathtub the last thing I'd be worrying about upon regaining consciousness is my stubble. Of course I do have a beard that can reach my belly button while sitting down. Jack is just a classy guy.
