Friends and Lovers-part 1 and part 2-which were the pilot episodes for Three's a Crowd. Something to look forward to in 2010-LOL We all know season 8 won;t be out no time soon.

I totally don't agree... perhaps they were meant to be the "pilot" for the new series by the producers, but for any fan (and also for every episode guide) they will always be the finale for the best sitcom of all time!
And I also don't think, that the 8th season on DVD will take so long... I would say, they will come out in 2006/07! |

What don't you agree with? And believe me the last season will not be released before 2008. Forget it. |

I thought you were saying that the episode Friends and Lovers was not the pilot for Three's a Crowd. As far as the 8th season release, no one really knows i'm just guessing. |

You're right with the guessing, I am ok with that! But it is not correct to say that the last episodes of Three's Company ARE the pilots for Three's A Crowd... they served their purpose for introducing the new characters for the spin off, but the last two episodes are definately episodes (the series finale of) of Three's Company!

Part 2 was defintely the Three's a Crowd Pilot according to the end of the episode when the Three's Company Logo was PUSHED aside by the Three's a Crowd logo. |

I agree! Those episodes were a part of TC to the fans! I hope they do include them in the last season!

They definately will! They are part of the 8th season and belong to Three's Company! Janet, Terri and the others weren't part of Three's A Crowd! Both episodes do belong to Three's Company and I am 100% sure that they will be on the 8th season DVDs!

There might be a chance that the entire first season of Three's a Crowd will see release on DVD. It's doubtful, but it could happen. Nowadays shows that only had 13 episodes or fewer are seeing release. Examples of this are shortlived shows like Firely, The Ben Stiller Show and My Big Fat Greek Life.
Of course, shortlived shows are only released when the producers and DVD companies know that they're going to make $$$ off of it. Given John Ritter's ultimely death, and the fact that Three's a Crowd is practically NEVER shown in syndication, chances are good that it might happen eventually. They would figure that fans would buy the show out of curiousity and loyalty to John Ritter or Three's Company. Even if the show sucks and people end up not liking it, it's a one shot deal since there was only one season. I think the same could happen for The Ropers as well. Again, it's a long shot but stranger things have happened. The only way this would be is if sales are decent with other Three's Company season sets. If sales sag on later seasons, the powers-that-be would probably figure that the spin-offs are not likely to sell when the parent show failed to sell. Again, I'm only saying it's a possibility. Don't some of you start hammering saying that it will never happen. You're probably right that it won't but my reasons for saying that it's not an impossibility are just as plausible... Ed |

Maybe you wouldn't, but maybe you would, especially if you had all 8 seasons of Three's Company and the one or two season set of The Ropers. The fan in you would probably buy it so that your collection would be complete, but it's hard to say right now in 2004 when only season 1 of Three's Company is out.

Look, that is just speculation on your part. You don't know for sure that TC wouldn't check out The Ropers. Would all of them? No, of course not, but some definitely would.
Anyway, as I said, it *probably* won't happen, but there are other shows I would have argued that were even less likely and they did see release, so it is possible. Not probable, but possible. The bottom line is $$. If all 8 seasons sell like hotcakes, then the producers and DVD companies are going to want to milk the TC & John Ritter connection to death, and that would include The Ropers. That is all I'm trying to say... Ed |
