I saw that episode on Nick at Nite since I came home from work while I was watching on my DVR. It was a final episode of "The Cosby Show". I love the part where Theo was graduating from High School and after that, Cliff told one of their friends are wishing to say goodbye before heading to Singapore. And at the very end of the show, Cliff rang the doorbell and played Miles Davis' "If I Were a Bell" and danced along until the final second the audience and the crew wishes some goodbye as they left the studio. That was the end of the show. I always love that episode. I should watch this clip from "The Cosby Show" website in Italian. Go to that website http://www.thecosbyshow.com/ go to the video link, download this clip which it says "The Final Episode" and watch the ending of the final episode in Italian.

I thought the end with Cliff and Claire dancing was very nice.
But using the graduation as a finale was cheap IMO. Theo wasnt the center of the show -- so the finale SHOULDN'T'VE been about him. |

I agree, he was not a Major Character so it should have been more about the cast |

i don't think using the graduation was too bad. it was a significant event in "cliff & claire's" life. & it made the show more realistic because it was something that was current in the show.
ps. theo WAS a major character. he was their SON! true, he wasn't the center of the show, but the idea of their family WAS... so, being that theo's graduation was also a family event, it wasn't that bad! |

I guess it was a little weird because usually in a series finale, the entire cast is seen one last time. Not the case in the cosby series finale |

Well in Martin and Denise case, it was understandable because they were gone long before the finale |

Theo was graduating college at NYU, not high school. I don't think the last episode plot was cheap at all. The whole point, or shall I say one of the big things the show was stressing about was getting an education and using it to enrich your life. Theo was the "final product". You could see the transition from Season 1, how he was a goof off and didn't really have any goals and making a lackluster life plan (with the infamous monopoly money) but when push comes to shove you have to realize life doesn't always go the way you want it. In Seasons 7-8 when he got the job as a counselor, that's when the goals started to kick in. The final ingredient was receiving that ultimate goal: a college degree and knowing that he could do it. This episode is very special and is a motivating factor on me going back to school and getting my degree.
