I was reading a letter from my pen-pal in Toronto, whom I've been talking to for almost a year now and we've become very close. She's expecting her first child this summer, and we were talking about baby names. She told me she'd already decided that if it's a girl she wants to name it Emily, after me! I couldn't believe it - that's the sweetest thing I've ever heard from anyone! I could have a namesake!

I'm just tickled, so I thought I'd share

I actually just got off the phone with my best friend. I told her and she said "I'd be happy if someone named their dog after me!"

It's true though. This is the nicest thing that anyone could do for me.

That's so cool! If I ever had a kid- [notice the emphasis on 'ever'], her middle name would definitely be Caitlin, after my best friend.

Yes that is quite an honor! Nobody that I know of has ever named anyone after me.

Marlene is kind of an old- fashioned name I guess! But Karly told me a couple of years ago that she was going to name one of her future kids Marlene. I am holding you to that Miss Karly!

I'd like to do that as well. If I do have a daughter, I'd like her middle name to be Nicole, after my best friend.

When you have a baby of your own one day, you can return the compliment and name the baby after your pen-pal!!

Well, I'm only 21 and about as single as they come

I don't really plan on ever having kids, but who knows? She's got a lovely name herself: Grace. I told her she should name the baby Emily Grace - so it's after both of us

Just to let you know, I still haven't decided a name for my kid yet. It's still too early.
