Guys,
This is GREAT film that was made in 1985 and stars Andrew McCarthy, Kevin Dillian, and Donald Southerland. It's about life in a Boy's Catholic School and relationships that the kids experience outside of it. The acting is superb and the film REALLY shows how strict the teachers at the school are. (The actor who played, the almost sadistic Brother Constance, Jay Patterson, did so brilliantly) This film was released at about the same time as The Breakfast Club, but it never got the respect that it deserves. It's on the HBO channels this month, and is definitely worth renting!!! Why this film isn't on DVD is behond me! Jack |

That movie was on today on HBO! I would have taped it but I didn't have any blank tapes
. The best character is Matt Dillon's character, Rooney. I thought it was funny how he was helping the boys change their sins. Like he told one guy that he can't tell the priest that he stole something because he would have to give it back. Then he told the kid that he stole food to feed his family. And the other kid says, "what if he tells me to bring it back?" and Rooney says "What? The crap?"

"Heaven Help Us" is a great movie. Very funny and touching.
I think it got lumped in unfairly with the teen sex comedies of the 80's, so it didn't get the attention it deserved. |
