To-date, the 2010s.

But who knows what the rest of the decade will bring (although I could make a very educated guess).

I guess it would be the 2000's to today. Probably because a lot of the characters are written so snarky and sarcastic to the point that they are not enjoyable or likable, or they've become nothing but internet pop culture memes that quickly got tiresome.

EXACTLY!!!! That is what I think too! Characters of these days are not as likable as they were in the old days!

2000's and up. It's just not funny. I only watch the ones on Family channel when babysitting my niece (Canadian version of Disney, they air all the Disney channel shows).

This one. Malcolm In The Middle, Even Stevens and Married To the Kellys are about the only things that redeem the previous decade. I can't remember anything that stands out for me from the 90s either, come to think of it.

I guess 2000s to today, but there really isn't any one decade where there aren't any sitcoms I like. Even from the last decade and a half there's still a few I like, such as How I Met Your Mother, Mike & Molly, The Big Bang Theory, and Modern Family.

The 50's gave us arguably the most reknowned sitcom of all time, "I LOVE LUCY", so that alone should have kept any of you from naming it. Of course, when you add other well known classics like "LEAVE IT TO BEAVER" and "FATHER KNOWS BEST", it's clear that the 50's were a wonderful decade!

And the 60's were easily the greatest decade ever for classic sitcoms, so any pick of that time is even more baffling. If one only considers "THE ANDY GRIFFITH SHOW" (which btw, blew away the competition recently with its Reunion special - showing it's still very popular) and "THE DICK VAN DYKE SHOW" then there is no way it could be picked as a poor decade. These shows have stood the test of time and will continually be classics.

Now, if one wants to talk about poor decades, one need only consider the last several years to see that this present decade is a bust! Yep, it gets my vote for giving us not one, and I mean not one, decent sitcom.

B&W "the 60's were awesome with all the great sitcoms that came out during that time" fan
Thank you! That was very well said! There's not much I can add to that except to say that if you can think of shows from the 50s and 60s that aren't very good---and serious viewers will tell you there weren't many---they are still far better than anything that we see on the networks today. If the prime-time network sitcom isn't yet dead, last week's premiere of "One Big Happy" might have put it in a serious coma.

I must say, this is the first time I've ever witnessed a 12 year old forum thread getting bumped.

I'm sitting here thinking to myself "What the hell are these people talking about? Family MAtters and King of Queens aren't from this current decade...!!!", and then I spot the dates.

I like a lot of shows from the 50's-90's, after that it started going downhill. Now I avoid watching all but a couple of shows and they are older shows.

I would say the 1940's. I don't find the Goldbergs' all that entertaining.
