I forgot to mention Rosetta LeNoire and Michelle Thomas, who played Grandma Winslow and Myra Munkhouse, respectively, on Family Matters!

since this is Sitcom CHARACTERS that have passed away, how about some of these (whether the actor is alive or dead, the CHARACTER)

Henry Blake - M*A*S*H (McLean Stevenson left the show)
Todd Stites - Suddenly Susan (David Strickland committed suicide right before the end of the season, so the season finale was a "farewell" episode to his character)
Coach - Cheers (Nicholas Colasanto died between seasons)
Paul (not sure the last name) - 8 Simple Rules (we all know what happened with John Ritter)

there's plenty of others, help me, it's 4:15 am and my brain is tired, lol

Nick- Barney Miller (Jack Soo died during 5th season I think)
James- Good Times (John Amos was fired from the show).
Edith- Archie Bunckers Place

Your right Buffy is about SITCOM characters. The 2 that I mention(John Amos, Jean Stapleton) are still alive today.

John Amos wasn't fired from "Good Times"; he quit the show after a disagreement. He was followed 1 or 2 seasons later by Esther Rolle.

Written out:

G. W. Haines, The Waltons (Erin's boyfriend; killed in training at Camp Lee)

Aunt Martha Corinne Walton, The Waltons (died while picking flowers)

Curtis Willard, The Waltons (Mary Ellen's first husband; killed during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor while as a doctor in the military, only to wake up a few episodes later and be living in Florida, with a new name, and played by a new actor)

Arthur A. Collins, The Wonder Years (Kevin's algebra teacher; died of a heart attack one weekend)

Died after the show ended:

Ike Godsey, The Waltons (died after the show ended, according to the narrator in at least one episode)

Jack Arnold, The Wonder Years (two years after the show ended, so the finale told us)

Almost written out:

It is said that if The Brady Bunch had come back for a sixth season, Mike (the father) would have been killed off, either dying in an auto crash or going on an extended architectural project.

According to at least one source there were plans to write out Winnie Cooper on The Wonder Years after a contract dispute.

some of the "S & S" cast is still around, and the other shows you mentioned (with the exeption of "Give Me A Break") are all DRAMAS!!! Can't you read, the title of this thread CLEARLY STATES "SITCOM characters"!!!!!
