Are Sitcoms getting Better or Worse? - Page 2 - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I would have to say that sitcoms are getting worse. My prime culprits are the Fox network for giving us the likes of Married ... with Children (which I think is the worst television show ever made

) and the cable networks for giving the "Big 3" networks edgy ideas on how to make new shows (especially reality shows

).

I believe that, if not for Fox and the cable networks, we would still be enjoying shows molded after Leave It To Beaver, The Andy Griffith Show, and The Cosby Show.

Worse, this is my weekly current sitcom schedule:

Sunday: FOX

7:00: Oliver Beene

9:00: Malcolm in the Middle

Monday: CBS

8:30: Still Standing

Tuesday: ABC

8:00: 8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter

Wednesday: FOX

That 70's Show

Thursday: none

Friday: WB

Grounded for Life

Saturday: none

As you can see that's only 6 sitcoms so yeah it is definatley worse.

8:30 A Minute With Stan Hooper (ill give it a try)

THURSDAY
8:00 Survivor: Pearl Islands (GO Drake!)

FRIDAY
8:00 George Lopez (If im home)
8:30 Luis (If Im home, Ill give it a try)

SATURDAY
11:30 Saturday Night Live

SUNDAY

Worse without a doubt. The WB and UPN ARE horrible, but the big three ones aren't that much better.

The only one I fairly like is "Whoopi". And Frasier's pretty good.

WB and UPN. They aired any type of sitcom year after year. These sitcoms on UPN and WB make no sense and usually end up getting cancelled.

I don't think the WB or UPN have anything to do with sitcoms getting worse. At least they are trying to be real and DIVERSE their sitcoms. I agree, I don't like some of the shows they have but that's with any MAJOR network. I think all these sitcoms from ALL networks, major or not, suck; well some do. It seems to me that known of these shows are educational. They are full of BIG time stereotypes.
