I think I can explain the kitchen for the Over Our Heads era. Since they knew they weren't gonna restore Edna's Edibles, they completely renovated the kitchen. The big stove and big refidgerators were replaced with the regular home sized ones and a staircase and window was added.

When was Over Our Heads a 50s malt shop?? Someone got that from a TV reference book, which was very much in error.

They didn't mean Over Our Heads was a 50's malt shop. It's decor was styled like one.

But to get back on topic...........

Over Our Heads! How cool is it to buy a record, greeting card, stylish clothes, and eat one of Edna's cookies all in the same place.

Imagine Edna's Edibles in 1985-1988 -- Wouldn't have worked. Show would have buried itself.

I liked Edna's Edibles for it's cozy country-style feel and I liked Over Our Heads for it's hip mid-1980's feel.

If Edna's Edibles had not been replaced by Over Our Heads, the shop would have had to close when Mrs Garrett left the show. (None of the girls were good cooks like Mrs Garrett.) So I guess Over Our Heads turned out to be a good change.

Back in the 80's I loved stores full of weird stuff like that.

Juno's hamburger phone reminds me of Over Our Heads.

I'm sure Beverly Ann was a good cook, but I agree with you. Edna's Edibles wouldn't have worked with Edna gone. So, it was great Over Our Heads came into the picture.
