Million Dollar Ripoff - Page 2 - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I posted this on another thread but really is applies here too. Has anyone tried searching the internet for Million Dollar Ripoff? I've checked several old movie stores on the internet but they always say "sorry, Million Dollar Ripoff could not be found". I hate to see what happens if ever there is a copy on e-bay. Everyone here will be bidding against each other I'm afraid. What will we do if that happens? Surely there is a copy out there somewhere! I asked this question on the other thread too - was MDR a movie made for television or was it shown in a movie theater? When was it supposed to have been released - earlier in Freddie's career or towards the end? During Freddie's marriage or after things started getting bad? Sorry for all the questions, but as they say "inquiring minds want to know!"

I apologize for the delay in replying. I just saw your questions. Yes, MDR was a made for t.v. movie on NBC. I can check for you on the year of release, but it was near the end. I will never forget how I noticed the tremendous weight loss. He was still gorgeous, but I was struck by the weight loss. IMHO the movie was great. It showcased his abilities on the dramatic side and it was a very pleasant surprise.

I hope this helps. I will check it out tonight and let you know the year and whether or not it was made during his marriage or not.
