When I didn't want certain foods at dinner, I would say to my mom in Greek, "I don't want to eat it."

She always replied "You WILL eat it" (also in Greek of course).

This went on frequently and annoyed the rest of the family. So the "You WILL" is what I hated hearing.

The only thing I wouldn't eat and still won't is liver but mom didn't make that very often and we never had to eat it!

I don't believe in making kids eat what I know they don't like.

My sister, who hated peas,would hide them under her plate until my parents caught on. To this day she still hates peas!

Usually the main dish was the problem. That's not something you can hide. At age 8 or so, I wasn't ready for cod fish baked in spinach or green peppers stuffed with rice & beef.

Way back when my dad was in WWII, some of the meat was so bad that he secretly wrapped some and put it in his pockets, throwing it away later.

I also as a child until I graduated college absolutely loathed school. I dare say about 80 percent of what they teach is absolutely worthless in everyday life, especially high school. Then being forced to learn this crap or else you get a bad grade and are in trouble with your parents.
