I was in the store and I was shocked to see food had prices

It's funny Dude, thinking about just that, in context with some of the old western shows depicting "crazy" pioneers at conflict with settlers following them.

The TV show Gunsmoke used that as a theme for several different episodes.

Some variation of a mountain man, or a cattle baron who tamed the wilderness....made it livable, only to come into conflict with "sod busters" trying to squeeze-in on their good thing


And in hindsight, seeing what the world has become now, looks like the eccentric "kooks" were right. The world was going to heII in a handbasket

Once your favorite product is back in stock on store shelves, the higher price is less objectionable than "none available"

My feeling is that some of the shortages are likely true while others are not. I feel some companies just jumped on the shortage-bandwagon to justify raising prices.

There is a frozen meal I like to get and it was less than $2 before the pandemic. The stores did not get it back for about 8 months. When it finally came back it was $3.
