I'm not big on the "lost treasure" segments and would rather see a true crime case than something about ghosts or ufo's.

Ditto on the treasure stories. I can't remember any of them; they just aren't interesting to me.

For me the worst stories are the ones about ghosts, psychic powers and other paranormal stuff. The lost loves stories are interesting sometimes, but one bad episode for me is a diabolical minds special where they put Saddam Hussein, Hitler and Jeffrey Dahmer under opinion of forensic psychologists. Its rather sensationalist and with a little political side, after all it was made after the Gulf war.

I couldn't finish watching the segment where the man was supposedly making it rain indoors. It was so ridiculous unimportant- how is showing viewers this going to enrich their lives any???
Also the chupacabra (sp) was silly, too. I giggled some during it, though. I agree sometimes UM need filler segments and I guess ones like these kill the rest of the hour. |

i dont like ones where something like a statue is said to have power and can heal wounded or something, those always bore me. i like the lost love ones just to hear the story of how they got lost. I am actually scared of some of the topics but im addicted sometimes.

I tend to disagree with most of the people who said they don't like the ghost or UFO segments. I think those are clearly the most interesting and fun to watch. I don't mind watching the crime stories. However, I do not like the Lost Loves segments at all. To me, these shouldn't even be included as "unsolved mysteries." One of my favorite episodes is actually the one where the guy becomes possessed and makes it rain everywhere he goes. I thought the whole thing was hilarious. I've never seen anything like it. My other favorites are the Gurdon Light, Resurrection Mary, and the haunted Queen Mary ship.

I just felt the rain segment wasn't appropriate for UM. It would've been more fitting for a show like Sightings or Beyond Bizarre. It would be very amusing, though, if there's an update one day explaining how everyone involved was either drunk or flat out lying during his "paranormal" episodes.
I agree that most of these Lost Love cases aren't really true Unsolved Mysteries. It's no mystery: the children were given to foster homes and adopted, what's so mysterious abot that, lol. It's only a mystery if a child is kidnapped, runs away or vanishes into thin air. What became of the child? Are they dead or alive? So many possiblities can come from those three scenarios, but with the adoption segments-which make up 95% of the Lost Loves- you know the kid's safe and sound somewhere. Again, I do like the cases when they're about missing soldiers and such. NBC should have created a spinoff show just for LL cases but they weren't en vogue then. Spinoffs are so popular now, though: 'Homicide', 'CSI', 'Law & Order'.

This segment was so preposterous that I am almost at a loss for words to describe it. However, it was saved by the general overacting and the ridiculous methods used to "save" the guy, such as putting a paper bag on his head. Also, this guy was on a prison forlough for a family funeral - how long was that damn forlough? It seemed like he was out for weeks... I love Lost Loves. Period. I prefer Unexplained Death with the creepy composites, too, but I will never turn off an LL segment. Some of my favorites have included the two African-American childhood friends (they were in the hospital together) who were reunited and the swimmer who saved the athletic young man who broke his neck at the beach. On a purely superficial note (and I am probably a huge jerk for saying this), but has anyone ever noticed how the actors in the LL segments are exponentially more attractive than their real-life counterparts when they are located? |

It has to be the treasure or UFO segments.......however does anyone remember the UFO segment with the family claiming they suffer radiation poisoning? In the segment the "UFO" supposedly burns a big circle or oval in the asphalt....then the asphalt is mysteriously paved over.....did any news reports verify this??

My least favorites are those damn fertility statues and the segment about the Jesus statue that had its eyes allegedly open up when before they were closed. The fertility statues is quite possibly the worst segment EVER. What's the mystery there? They should have done an update in which Robert Stack explained the birds and the bees to viewers. As for the Jesus statue they did update that and showed a video tape of a mass taken before the alleged "eye opening" and you could clearly see that the eyes were always slightly open. They should have never even wasted their time and money on either of these, IMO.

The restaraunt Such is Life. Anyone remember that? I'm 9 years old when it first aired and more annoyed that there's no ufos/ghosts on the tv.
