^^^ You may think of it as a country tour, but that doesn't mean that everyone else will. I don't.

God bless you always!!!

Holly

P.S. Thank the Lord that I only wasted about $7.00 on them girls.

Huh? I don't even see how that can be debated. It was 2003. They were pure country. They had not even come close to adding rock elements to their music yet. You can dislike them all you want, but to deny that it was a country tour really makes no sense. But regardless, country or not...$60.5 million is a massive success.

HuntingtonM15, what they said about President Bush was a "harmless comment"?! You can't be serious right? We'll just have to 100 percent disagree on that whole issue, with what they did and said the Dixie Chicks deserved all of the hate and the backlash they got. But I'll admit by that point I was getting tired of them, I knew by then Natalie Maines tended to shoot off her mouth and I thought they dressed trashy and I really didn't like that Goodbye Earl song. But the way they outrageously disrespected President George W. Bush just pushed it over the edge for me. As far as I'm concerned the country music world is 100% better off without them and we've all moved and from them and there's no going back. You know what they say about people burning bridges. And the kind of people that are fans of the Dixie Chicks I don't want to be friends with anyways. If you think it's fine to totally trash a good American president like that then there's something wrong with you.

Ed. ETA: When I say "something wrong with you" I mean that as people in general and not any person specifically. But I suppose it could be taken that way too if you want.

Cool

But it's cool to see you're a Martina McBride fan too.

If all that they are going to do is trash country from now on, then I don't consider them to be country from now on.

God bless you always!!!

Absolutely 100% harmless. It was a war that took the lives of way too many to think about and turned up exactly nothing. If that's a "good American President" to you, and if you think the ladies deserved having their lives threatened and put in jeopardy, then I'm perfectly content with being disliked for being a fan of the Chicks.

I didn't intend to make this thread political. I unfortunately got caught up in that in these boards a bit this election season, and have been purposely staying out of it, so this is my last post in this thread.
