I and my wife are in our late 40's and been married 14 years and sleep in seperate rooms. When we were first married, we slept together and did not like it. Mine did too! Though maybe my grandpa wanted his own room because of all the creepy Victorian dolls my grandmother had.

True. Everyone's different. My wife and I have been married for 20 years, and when she's gone over night I sometimes have a hard time falling asleep in an empty bed.

A lot of times I sleep in the spare bedroom . I tend to have insomnia, and I'm up and down from the bed a lot or rolling over trying to get comfortable. And if I start to feel like I'm not going to sleep well, I go in the other room, so my husband can get a good nights sleep!

That way I can get out of the bed whenever I want , put the light on and not feel bad that I am keeping somebody else from sleeping!

Those old Victorian looking dolls are spooky! But I found out that doll from the movie Conjouring and Annabelle in real life wasn't a scary Victorian doll , it was based on a true story about a haunted Raggedy Ann doll! I was like OH NO!!!!

Here is the real Annabelle doll !

Yeah, it's understandable why they changed it for the movie though. The Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls I don't think are scary, I even had some of their books. My grandmother's dolls, plus the chomping dolls in Barbarella is probably what added to my doll phobia. And my wife even has one that's the size of a child. I freaking hate that thing. When I first stayed over in her apartment, she had it in her room, sitting in a little chair. It doesn't bother her at all, but me, nope, she had to put it in the closet for me. Now she keeps it in her crafts/sewing room. I don't go in that room alone haha

Torgo , how about Amish dolls that have no faces? That's kind of creepy. Well not creepy just strange maybe? They say if a doll has a face it's vanity! So the little girls have a doll they can play with and cuddle. But without a face? IDK if I'd like a doll like that?

$500 in 1975 dollars is about $3000 today (pulling figure out of keester). A TV costing that much? A very nice, huge flatscreen TV is about $1500 in 2015 money, while one can buy a nice sized set for about $500, again 2015 dollars.

How much was one of those large 25 inch color floor units inside a wood cabinet would be in 1975 (or when the episode was on between '71 and '79, using '75 as a midpoint) cost?

As an aside, I dislike the new TVs and how they hang like a picture on a wall. I like the 1970's-80's floor model, cabinet like sets,mwhere people can put pictures and crap on top. Do they still make those?

Floor Models were only for if you lived in a HOUSE. So if today was Aug 15, 1975 I would not have one at all

I think we got our second color floor model in the mid-'70s. (My uncle was a TV fan and I'm certain he'd bought our first one by 1966 or so.)

Ours may not have been quite as big as a 25-inch that Yong Fang refers to, so it's hard to answer his question. We would always have a Zenith or RCA, and I doubt very much that we paid more than $200 or $300, maybe even less. We always placed an electric radio on top, so there was our entertainment center...! Big antenna strapped to the chimney.

There were 6 of us living in the house, so sometimes one or more of us would turn on a little Sharp brand black & white tv in the other room to watch something different. Rabbit-ears antenna on that one. No remote for either at that time for us.
