Default Why CBS' fall lineup is so radical

http://www.vulture.com/2015/05/cbs-l...-in-years.html

CBS is adding just one crime procedural, Limitless, while uncharacteristically adding two single-camera sitcoms (CBS has preferred multi-cam sitcoms in the past). "As a result," says Josef Adalian, "for the first time in recent memory, CBS will have an even split between multi- and single-cam comedies during the fourth quarter. Plus, once Supergirl takes flight, there will be no comedy at all on the Eye's Monday schedule, something the network says has never happened since it began programming the night back in 1949."

I thought about the post-November scheduling for the CBS sitcoms for the 2015-16 season. There'll only be four available timeslots for comedies on one night (Thursdays), because of Supergirl taking away an hour of comedies (on Monday).

I think the lineup after November or December would be: The Big Bang Theory, 2 Broke Girls, Mom, and Mike & Molly. The new single-cams (Life in Pieces and Angel From Hell) would be cancelled after a few episodes due to unsatisfactory ratings and reviews. It may be difficult for M&M and 2BG to produce/air a full season of ~20 episodes within just 5 months. Unfortunately, this leaves no room for season 2 of the 2015 version of The Odd Couple.

I think CBS is really trying to kill their own comedy division with Thursday Night Football, Supergirl, and Scorpion cannibalizing the available timeslots.

A way to fit the comedies in: cut Madam Secretary's order to 13 episodes. It was renewed prematurely and hit several series lows in 2015. After MS finishes 2 comedies can air Sundays at 8:00 and 8:30.

CBS picked up the show BrainDead for summer 2016.
I especially like this line: alien spawn have come to earth and eaten the brains of a growing number of Congressmen and Hill staffers.

Okay, let's assume that during the 2015-16 season, Madam Secretary suffers a second-season downfall (which is impossible due to it and 60 Minutes getting their numbers inflated due to NFL doubleheaders), whether its order for season 2 is full or shortened, The Good Wife retires after season 7, and people start warming up to CSI: Cyber and its ratings increase, CBS, for the 2016-17 season, decides to establish a new comedy block on Sundays, being followed by CSI: Cyber (or a new drama if Cyber suffers a second-season downfall as well) in the 10pm timeslot? Even though they still have to deal with NFL overruns. It'd be similar to when CBS had comedies on Sunday from 1977 to 1984. If that happens, which of CBS's existing comedies would move to Sunday?

Breaking News: Under the Dome will not be renewed for a fourth season; UtD will end after three seasons and 39 episodes on 10 September 2015. On 10 August, CBS reported that UtD's third season finale was written as a potential series finale, but there had been no confirmation on whether or not UtD will continue after its season 3 at that time.

Any info on the episode order of 2 Broke Girls? By the time Survivor starts it will have 11 episodes aired this season so what happens to the second half? Or it has a 13 episode order like Mike & Molly and The Odd Couple?
