Didn't happen to see the Nightmare Next Door case yet, but may have to check it out. I understand they've been airing several cases profiled on UM.

Shek, if you're reading this, I'm very sorry for your loss. I hope you don't mind me asking, but did you meet Robert Stack and Bill Kurtis? What were your thoughts on how Unsolved Mysteries and Cold Case Files handled Lisa's case? thanks!
Hi everyone,
Thanx everyone for thinking of us. I haven't checked in for quite some time because I am just getting back on top of my game you might say. I had a stroke just a little over a year ago. I was totally paralized on my right side from head to toe and was rushed to the ER where I was a canidate to get one of those miracle shots that they can only give you in first 2 or 3 golden hours after a stroke hits. After a $39,000 shot and 30 minutes later I regained all of mobility but did suffer some permanent brain damage effecting my speech and other communtication skills - writing being among them. Thank God for spell and grammer check (too bad it doesn't work for my mouth) but even with that , it's still a challenge.

In lastest program program they did on Lisa's story, we declined to participate. Yes, they did a fairly good job overall but our thinking was how many ways can they retell the same story and add anything meaningful? To us it almost seems to be falling into the realms of tabloid fodder. And to answer your question Wiseguy, no, we never met Stack or Kurtis personally. Rarely, if ever do they ever inneract with interviewee's. Without trying to minimize their importance, essentially, their only function is that of being the program's narrator. The only program host we ever dealt personally was Paula Zahn, a super neat lady. All in all though, all the programs produced to this date did a good job with the big exception of the one with Dayle Hinman, the profiler gal, that was totally a sham and sent me over the top.

But here are some updates you might find interesting. Eaton had his US District hearing in Fedreral court last August challenging his death penality by reason of ineffective defense and mental illness, etc. They did not challenge his guilt in any way. It was a brutal 2 week trial in Cheyenne, WY and as hard as it was, we were glad we attended because we would have never believed what we heard if told to us by someone else. The short version is the Federal judge can only decide in one of two possible ways. He can rule that all the argruements he heard do not rise to the level to interene in his death sentence and let it stand as it is OR he may rule that Eaton's trial was sufficiently flawed and grant him a new "sentencing" hearing. After sitting through all of what we heard, saddly we expect that the judge will grant him a new hearing. We are still waiting for the judges's ruling which he said should be by April or May - so any day now or so we hope.

Enough for now and my best to all. ~ Shek

Thanks for checking in, Shek!

I'm so sorry to hear about your medical issues. I hope your health continues to improve. I appreciate your thoughts on the Nightmare Next Door episode. For what it's worth, I thought the show did a good job of showing us a side of Lisa that Unsolved Mysteries didn't have time to delve into. I have not seen the Paula Zahn report, but I don't doubt it's awesome.

I've also been following Eaton in the news. I pray the judge issues his ruling quickly and that it leaves Eaton exactly where he belongs. Best to you and your family.

Hello Sheila its nice to hear from you and so sorry to hear of your medical problems. I hope you can make a full recovery!

I must admit I was surprised to see yet another show on Lisa. It seems like they would have exhausted looking at it from every angle by now and I'm sure as a parent they are never easy to watch. I did think they did a nice job talking about how Lisa was as a person which the other shows about her story haven't done much.
