I think that they cared about Elvin and they saw that he was wasting his potential, plus they didn't want their daughter to struggle since she was married the man. I would have said something too.

Your parents have no say so in who you want to date

What are you talking about? Claire and Cliff never told Sandra who to date OR not to date Elvin. When Vanessa brought Dabnis home, they never told her not to date him or marry him.

I totally agree. Florida and James Evans were much more realistic than those snobby buffoons Claire and Cliff Huxtable.....they were not believable at all.

Agree, I would rather have James and Florida as Parents then Cliff and Claire any day!! One of the many reasons I don't really like the Cosby show as much anymore because cliff and Claire are too unrealistic. I think James and Florida had a more Realistic Marriage then Cliff and Claire We are perfect Huxtables

Cliff and Clair were saying that Sondra should marry someone else because Elvin took a career path that they didn't agree with

Yeah just like the episode when Dabnis said he was the head of maintenance the huxtables didn't seem to thrilled with that.

In all honesty, what I do for a living is not my fiance's parents business anyway

^^^ Claire and Cliff ALWAYS gave Elvin a hard time. Does it really matter which episode? It was MULTIPLE episodes.

They never gave Elvin a hard time, Elvin was the one who was always putting his foot in his mouth. And YES it matters because I don't recall Cliff and Claire ever telling Sandra not to marry Elvin.

So Cliff didn't get mad when Elvin wanted to open a wilderness store?

But you didn't answer the question, When did they tell Sandra or When did they ever say that they didn't want her to marry Elvin?

And they were very supportive or Sandra and Elvin when they opened their Wilderness Store. They thought it was a crazy idea because they knew nothing about the Wilderness and they were already struggling.
