The first thing that I did in an attempt to stimulate some conversation about this show was start a new thread regarding a current event. The last time I checked, it obtained three views and zero replies. I have since decided to see what I can do by bringing three oldies but goodies to the top of the page. This is the last such thread. I will now, take a rest, go over to "Hulu" and watch an episode of "Silver Spoons". After I am finished, I will be very interested in seeing whether any of my efforts have received any responses or additional views. Bye!

This is the third and last thread that I plan on bringing to the top of this page during this sitting. I think that bringing three oldies but goodies to the top might be a good way of stimulating some conversation.

So far this sitting, I have worked pretty hard at trying to stimulate some conversation on some of these pages. In addition to bringing two old threads to the top of this page, I also started new threads on the pages of "Mad About You" and "Caroline in the City". So far, I do not have any replies. I figure I may as well see what happens if I bring this one to the top as well. Maybe a new generation of posters will want to talk about what they think of "My Sister's Keeper" and the parrelells in situations that I found between that movie and "Gimme a Break!".

It seemed that, for a while, there was quite a bit of traffic going through this page. Because of this, I thought that I might be able to stimulate some conversation by bringing some of my old favorites to the top of the page. A little over two hours ago, I brought a couple of my old favorites to the top of the page thinking that I might be able to stimulate some interesting conversation. This was because I noticed some recent traffic going through the page. Although both threads have generated a few new views since I brought them up, no one has replied so far. Now I am trying for a third time! The fact that I originally called this post "My Sister's Keeper" is because an incident in that movie reminded me of an incident on a third season episode of "Gimme a Break!". One movie that I am very interested in seeing at this point is "Soul Surfer". Has anyone here seen it already? I usually wait for movies to come to DVD and that is probably what I will do with this one. The thing about this movie that attracts me the most is the fact that Helen Hunt is in it! For those of you who do not know, she auditioned for the part of Katie from this show and ended up making a guest appearance in the season finale in 1982. I think that she is great!

Bringing this thread to the top of the page is my sixth attempt to stimulate some conversation about this show in the past couple of days. I figure that, if I keep on trying, I might get lucky sooner or later!

You bring up an interesting point Smartboy. Katie had a tendency to be self centered and because of that I don't think she appreciated her family as much as she should have. And this was probably especially true of her sisters as you mentioned in your post.

Bringing this thread from the second page to the top of the first is just one more attempt to stimulate some conversation. I am thinking that, maybe some of the fans who visit will remember the movie that inspired this thread and share with us what they think about it.

I notice that, posts on this page tend to be going in spurts. It seems that, during the past week or so, this page has tended to be getting the occasional post by people other than me. This is something that I am very happy to see! In any event, I now see that this thread (which was started by me) has been pushed to second page. Most of what has pushed it there has been my failed attempts to start some conversation about this fine series! I any event, I am now raising it to the top of the first page to see if people might be interested in revisiting this topic.

Because I see a little bit of action on this page starting up again, I have decided to bring some of my old favorites up to the top of the page. I am wondering whether some of the newcomers might want to responded to some of the things that us old-timers were writing once upon a time. This is the second such thread that I am doing this with.

In the recent past, somebody responded to one of my various threads regarding the third season episode called "Samantha's Protest". If you read the beginning of this thread, you will know that that is also the episode that it pertains to. In any event, the one that somebody has recently responded to is called "Social Studies". I have since responded to that response. It has since gotten pushed down a few spaces by responses to other threads. In any event, since there seems to be a lot of traffic going through this page at the time, I have decided to see if I can stimulate even more conversation by bringing this thread to the top of the page. I would now like to express my admiration for Julie in this episode in slightly different words than I have used in the past. I would say that there are two things about her that I really appreciated. They were her bubbly mentality and her refusal to tolerate any nonsense.

"Disgusting" is a pretty commonly used word, so you must think about that particular Gimme A Break episode all the time. I don't know why you mentioned My Sister's Keeper since just about every movie in the world probably mentions the word "disgusting" at least once.

In response to your original question, yes I do think about that "Gimme a Break!" episode, just about every time I hear the word disgusting! It is just the way my mind works. The fact that I mentioned the movie "My Sister's Keeper" is because I had seen it that day and so it was fresh in my mind. I thought that, since it was a current movie, other people might have recently seen it and be interested in discussing it. I hope that this explanation helps you understand what I am on about.

It seems as if things are picking up a little bit on this page. Even my thread about things having slowed down managed to get a reply. In any event, earlier today, I watched an episode of "Three's Company" that was uploaded onto You Tube. It was called "The Love Barge". She enough, the word disgusting was used in the episode! All I had to to was hear the word and my mind went right back to what Julie said right after she used her left arm to grab Katie's right and spin her around! Oh the memories!
