Why can't we have quality toys like that nowadays?

I actually had a pendant when I was young that was a "cage" with a pet rock inside it! lol

Yes I do and I still have my collection. I never got rid of it. I haven't looked at it in years though.

Another game I played were the MAGIC: The Gathering cards. I also remember when Pokemon cards came out the interest in MAGIC slowly went away.

LOL! Looking back now, I can't believe how stupid those pet rocks were. And to think they were among the most popular, iconic things of the '70s - what were people thinking? lol

I never got into this but I remember it very well since my sister and friends got into this. Does anyone remember the virtual pet "Tamagotchi" craze of the late 90s?

I never did see the interest in this and I remember people saying "Watch my pet when I'm gone and make sure to feed it." and I thought it was nuts.

Anyway, here's some 90's nickelodeon show openings to enjoy.

All That

Clarissa Explains it All

The Adventures of Pete and Pete Oh man, the mom and the idea of her having a metal plate in her head is still hilarious to me. Never realized how good of a song that theme was until now, either.

Salute Your Shorts Just ignore the random loser inserting himself into the theme.

Are Your Afraid of the Dark I. used. to. love. this. show. And tbqh, the opening was probably one of the scariest things about it lol.
i miss old Nick

so awesome! it was seriously good TV lol.

I remember the Garbage Pail Kids too, FactsFan. In fact, they were a parody of the Cabbage Patch Kids! I managed to get one card of the GPK's back in eighth grade (1986), and I remember it was Crater Chris. My parents had reservations about them, too, but fortunately for them I had and started developing interests in other things and never got any more GPK stickers.

I remember -really- old Nickelodeon. Before Rugrats, before Hey Dude, before all that mid-90s shows.

It was Pinwheel from 1977 until 1981, so I wasn't around when Nickelodeon went by that name originally. But YCDTOTV was one of the first shows to be on Nick (when it was still Pinwheel). Their opening was inspired by Monty Python's Flying Circus - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oO5agWqCvs8

God I miss that show so much.

"Pinwheel pinwheel, see what I found, look through my pinwheel and see what I found". I absolutely loved that show!! Also loved Belle and Sebastian, and Today's Special, which was also on Nickelodeon. I sound so old here, but damn, they sure don't make them like they use to!!!

Same here, Billie. I remember going to Jewel with my mom in either 1984 or 1985 and asking her if I could buy a pack of Garbage Pail kids, and my mom wasl like "Noooooooo".

They still have this flavor it's just under the name "Magic Brownies". I see people buy it all the time. Comes in a purple container.

I forgot about those James! Thanks for bringing the short lived memories back of it lol. Yeah I remember them and used to have 1/2 of em as well. I remember I would feed the thing, then throw it in my closet, as I went to bed for the night and the ****ing thing would wake me up at 4 in the morning a few nights . It would be like (in this short, robotic like, annoying voice) "Please feed me, please feed me, please feed me."

it was a crackhead who needed it's drugs, that little computer thing- lol

i got tired and hella annoyed of it, and ended up throwing it in the trash. Or it might not of been that, I can't remember what I did exactly to get rid of it . Pretty funny though!
