No I can't say I was really intimidated by anyone. Maybe if I met some of them in person, it would be possible. I was more drawn than anything by the interests that have in common (sitcoms, TV shows ,hobbies and general outlook) with several other members on here. The way we all celebrate things like post count milestones, birthdays, ect. is just cool and family like.

Just take what you can. I actually applied there because I'd run out of ideas of places to apply - I didn't even know if they were hiring. Apparently they were. Ha.

...And it turns out I MAY be able to stay at the current job I'm at. Yay, two jobs and 50 hours/week.

Whoops. Totally hijacked this thread...

Yeah, true. I guess I need to go get an application from there pretty soon.

50 hours is pretty good $, so I hope you can pull them. It sounds rough though, and I'm sure it'd be exhausting. But, like I said, good luck!

I have been told that I am intimidating (not on-line, but off) A lot of people, especially guys, initially think that I am an aloof bitch; but when they find out that I am someone who is totally down to earth and nice, they are shocked!

I get it in person myself. It took me two months to convince Frank I wanted to go out with him. Even though he had other coworkers tell him that I was interested in him, he was afraid "he'd crash and burn".

I know if I'm not smiling, I can look rather stern, but I'm the most approachable person you'll ever meet.

I remember one time, this so-called friend of mine told me that a lot of people think I am a bitch. I am not, just very shy, and because I do not look like someone who is, I get labeled as arrogant or stuck up. I am not, I am totally unpretentious and non judgmental. I am somewhat reserve and tend to keep to myself; also, I do not smile a lot (it causes wrinkles)

I got the exact same thing at work. I'm tall to begin with, and would wear high heels (4") and usually some leather or suede outfit (used to be my favourites and there's a fantastic Toronto company that designs the stuff). Anyway, I would usually have something on my mind and be walking down the halls quickly. I can see where they'd think that. Also, I used to be quite shy at first in person, especially to guys I found good looking. I'm not like that anymore and I think that's helped change my persona. I was told I looked like a "bitch" several times! LOL That's when I tried to work on it a bit.

Sorry Brad for going off topic a little bit here.

Kyle (Wreckless), lol- you knew I was gonna say that, right? Basically, we got into this BIG ass argument over the Seahawks/Eagles when I was talking about that special monday night eagles/hawks game. I started pretty much going on about the Lofa thing and Kyle tripped out lol (don't worry, I was trippin too). Honestly, at first, I thought Kyle was some rude, outspoken sports fan that just liked to argue with people- now, he's one of my best friends... not only on the site, but in real life too. In my mind, a friends a friend- no matter how you put. Even though I haven't met him in real life, I still consider him one of my good friends.

So it just goes to show you, a little **** talking never hurt anybody .

no, not really. i usually keep to myself anyway. not that i'm antisocial or shy, i'm just more of an observer. but i'll reach out to anyone and am always glad when someone reaches out to me.

i used to feel like an outsider and sometimes i still do since there are very close knit tight circles of friends here, but i think that speaks volumes in regards to the camaraderie of the members and as time goes by i think i'm finding my groove.

To be quite honest, a lot of people here intimidate me.

It's funny that I should be posting under Sonny since when I first met him nearly four years ago, I was very, very intimidated by him. When I think of the name Sonny I think of the character played by James Caan in The Godfather. If you've seen the movie, you will no doubt remember the scene when Sonny beats up his abusive brother-in-law, which includes beating him over the head with a garbage can. Also, Sonny is a huge football fan and his username was at the time Dallas Cowboys Fanatic. So with that combination I thought Sonny was this massive bad ass who shouldn't be messed with. Of course, Sonny is really a teriffic person and a true gentleman.
