The Mork and Mindy Pilot is how I found Sitcomsonline. I was researching trying to make sure I wasn't dreaming when I saw Laverne and Mork in the Cunningham's Living room-lol |

Yea, I remember that detail and knew it wasn't an episode of L&S or HD. Didn't recall if it was Mork & Mindy or his appearance on Out of the Blue.

The scene that was stuck in my head was Mork chasing Laverne around the couch-lol |

Also, at the beginning of the first episode proper on DVD, there is a strange little prologue and a 'rewind' to show this is a report to Orson? I'm fairly sure I never saw this on any UK transmitted versons either...

I've really enjoyed the first season, seeing Morgan Farichild for 3 or 4 episodes as snobby Susan Taylor (her landing Flamingo Road prevented her from doing more episodes) and the introduction of Mr. Bickley.

^Through the now defunct Pepsi Stuff promotion (their answer to My Coke Rewards). You saved enough points to get DVDs from Amazon--at no cost to you! I got M&M, Happy Days season 1, Laverne & Shirley season 1, and Bosom Buddies season 1 all this way. Was sad when the promo ended

![]() Actually, I got codes from friends as well that were not doing the promotion. So that helped out a lot! |

This show aired when I was in elementary school and everyone watched it. But even as kids by 1981 few were talking about the show anymore. Its on Antenna TV or MeTv on the weekends and I watch. I love classic comedies from the 70s and 80s. However much of this show is not that great. Most of the appeal of the show was Robin's fantastic comedy and shtick. No one could have done it better. The first season is good. It provided for interesting scripts like an alien learning about Earth and humans. But soon those ideas ran out. It also did not help how the show was constantly revamped. Season 2 fires Mindy's dad and grandmother and introduces new characters. It gets revamped again with the romantic interest between Mork and Mindy. Then once again when they have an alien baby. Some of the episodes in the later seasons I start to watch but turn off. IMHO its one of the few sitcoms from the late 70s that I am not that interested in watching.
But being 9 and 10 years old was the highlight of the week for me and many other kids. |
