The Tuba Man has died.

Edward McMichael, also known the Tuba Man, a fixture who tooted his horn for years outside Seattle sports games, died Monday after suffering injuries from an Oct. 25 beating according to the King County Medical Examiner's Office.

The assault happened on the 500 block of Mercer Street around 12:45 a.m. McMichael told police he had been beaten and robbed by a group of juveniles.

Police found two suspects who were later booked into the Youth Services Center.

McMichael was a beloved musician who had been to every opening-day Mariners game since 1990.

What a sad story. He has an equivalent in Cleveland - John Adams, who beats his drum in the bleachers at every single Cleveland Indians home game (and some road games, too!).

Well, it appears that the University of Washington Huskies are going for a new low....

Currently they stand at 0-9!!! Given that Washington State University is bad as well (although I don't follow their record, so I don't know if they've won any games), the Apple Cup should be interesting. As I've said before, SOMEONE has to win!

Although with my luck it'll be a tie!
