Look at Jason Earles, he plays a teenager Jackson on Hannah Montana and he was born April 26th, 1977.

Doesn't matter how old you are if you con convence people your a teenager than it will work.

????????????? as Simpson

Give me your sugestions for the rest of the cast.
Richard Mull(who played on Night Court) as Simpson, Richard can and has played a cop (almost a cop) and has played a sort of a stupid character as simpson was, and is tall like Simpson.

Emily Osment from Hannah Montana as Julie
Either Erin Sanders or Selena Gomez(might be to young) as Samantha
Either Cole or Dylan Sprouts(from suite life of zack and cody) as Joey
Michael Caine, when he wears his glasses, as Grandpa
Telma Hopkins could play herself as Addy like she did in the tv show
Joey's younger brother Cole or Dylan Sprouts.

Let me know what you think.

Only 2 I think I got right, Simpson and Julie, the others I just took a wild stab at.

I will check out the others you mentioned.
I agree with your earlier comment...

well, those kids are about 15 now (remember that it's been nine years since Big Daddy), Joey was about 6 when he came onto the show

Well no one ever said at what point of the show they wanted to do a movie at.

So I took a stab. Now if your thinking 6 then I have no idea then.

Telma Hopkins could play herself as Addy like she did in the tv show
Yeah, Addy would be hard to cast. Nell and Addy are best friends.
We need someone that will work well oposite Queen Latifah.

Michael Caine, when he wears his glasses, as Grandpa
I'm thinking he's too tall. We don't want him as tall as Simpson.
I still have to check out the others, but I'd have to say no on
Either Cole or Dylan Sprouts(from suite life of zack and cody) as Joey.

I am checking out videos on youtube to get a feel for how they would be in the roles.

Here's my revised cast list

Queen Latifah as Nell
John Goodman as Carl
Ashley Tisdale as Katie
????????????? as Julie
????????????? as Samantha
????????????? as Joey
????????????? as Grandpa
????????????? as Addy
Richard Mull as Simpson

Because I have not been successful in stimulating any conversation with any of my recent posts or bringing any of the old ones up to the top, I thought that I would try this one. I think that a movie based on this series would be really cool! However, because I do not know a whole lot about actors and actresses who are presently of the age groups that the characters were then, I cannot offer any suggestions as to who would be good in the parts. However, I am sure that Hollywood could find people who could do a pretty decent job! Do people reading this post think that it would do better on the big screen or as a movie made for television?

At first I was thinking "Give ME a Break" when I read the topic, but that is a great idea for Queen Latifah to play Nell. She sings and she would be perfect for the part! I haven't seen GMAB in ages, but I really liked it! I would have to watch some of the episodes before deciding who should play whom.

As far as a movie is concerned, it might work as a big screen movie or even a straight-to DVD movie. Maybe a TV movie as well.

The only one out of those names I can see as a possibility is
Robert S. Woods- Stanley "Chief" Kanisky
But he'd have to be able to play cynical without being stupid.
Like the clueless deadpan look Chief used to give.If he could do that well
he would make a great chief.
As for Nell, I still go with Queen Latifah.
Nell needs to have an in your face attitude.
Sherri Shepard doesn't have it but Queen Latifah.
