His father is really dead, because in an earlier flashback we saw Jack confirm the body when being asked if that was his father.

I'm sure his father is dead too. As for being too drunk to remember if his father was dead or alive, that doesn't seem plausible to me, at all. There's not enough booze or drugs in the world to make me think my parents are alive. When he said it to his boss, why didn't his boss ask him what the hell he was talking about? In two of those scenes, he referred to his father in the present tense. I think it's worth asking what's up with that?

Also, as I stated, I really don't like knowing the outcome of a mystery show. I think that flash forward isn't what it seems. Then again, with those writers, anything is possible.

Locke and the island have some sort of connection...remember he was paralysed before the crash and now he walks and he never limped so I don't think that's out of the ordinary for him.

I agree with you about Jack's father...that one has me scratching my head over. I don't buy that he was so drunk he didn't know his father was dead. Nobody's that drunk. I hope their's an explanation for it and not just a mistake by the writers.

I'm sure the actor who played Charlie, Dominic Monaghan, hated being written out of the show. And even more so since he's engaged to Evangeline Lilly, who plays Kate. They've set up house in Hawaii. I wonder how much time the cast and crew have to spend in Hawaii, filming a season?

I enjoyed the finale, although I'm holding out hope that the flash forward deal was a dream or something. I certainly hope that Kate and Jake survive the Island ordeal, but I'm not crazy over actually knowing it. So everytime we see them in peril from here on in, we can rest assured that they get out of harm's way, because we know they make it off the Island.

I hope it wasn't a dream. I would feel really robbed if it was. That was such a shocking thing to do. I definately see your point though, and I feel the same way about them being in peril, and we`ll all just roll our eyes, knowing they'll be fine....BUT that future isn't set in stone, so hopefully we learn more about it.....and NOT at the tail end of season 4, LOL.
