A father should not write a book on their child, without talking to them abt it FIRST. How could he not at least make some effort to contact her? That is the worst part of this whole thing. Famous or not, family should not do that. He is no better than the so-called family of Anna Nicole. I seem to remember the anger expressed on this board abt her half-sister who wrote a book abt Anna. That is no different. I hated Anna's sister for doing that and I hate the fact that Oprah's father is seeking $$$ (it is obvious) rather than be a proud father of a successful daughter. Family doesn't do that to family. I don't care abt anyone's skeletons or supposed skeletons.

THANK YOU! It's all about respect and courtesy, I think it's low down and dirty when you try to profit off of loved ones.

Then again, it is WORLD ENTERTAINMENT NEWS, what credibility do they have? I am not sure. We will have to wait and see

So true.

Savvy celeb watchers like us are becoming more aware that you have to sit back and watch how the cards fall before making a solid judgement I guess. Hell, for 17 years I believed Princess Diana's life WAS a fairytale!

Anyway, if he does write something and it is bad, O can always pull a "Color Purple" on him and offer to give him a shave!

You and I sister, you and I...I too believed that Princess Diana had a fairytale life. I was 15 when that so-called romance blossomed with her and Charles. I really thought, "Wow...he finally found his lady." FRIGGIN, STUPID, BASTARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My mom says I watched the Royal wedding on TV with her (I wasn't even 2 yet). Even when I was a kid I thought they looked so cold together, they didn't look to be in love at all. I knew at that young an age I didn't want to be in a marriage like that.

To me, Charles is the opposite of a Prince - he's a frog.

Back to Oprah, she has more money than the rest of us combined will ever make in our lifetimes. She is one of the most powerful women on the planet. I don't think her father's book will make one dent in her popularity. In other words, who cares??

If I remember correctly, didn't Oprah sell the rights to her own memoirs to a publisher a few years ago, and then ended up giving the multi-million dollar advance back when she changed her mind about writing the book? At any rate, I think her father should have discussed the book offer with her first before accepting, as a simple courtesy...
