My sister, a once and perhaps future poster on this board, met Matthew McConaughey and Penelope Cruz in Hawaii. They thought she was a dancer.

Concerning Bob Weeks, I do know that he was given multiple life sentences and was in prison in Nevada because he wrote to my friend for many years, some of which I read. He would ask about each one of us to see what and how we were doing & He always talked about how much he liked the prison he was in and hoped that he was never transfered. He said the best thing about the place was the library, which he said was a real good one, and he would not know what to do with himself if he lost those priveledges. As far as whether he was still alive or not, I do not know because my friend died a few years back and thats the last anyone heard of Bob Weeks.

The one thing that bothered me the most about the guy was that he was so approachable if you needed to talk to someone about personal issues. Everyone felt comfortable with him and he was so easy to like. For the longest time after his arrest, no one believed that he had done these cruel things until someone had read that he had admitted to everything and much, much more. Talking about being totally off-base being able to read someone. There wasn't an iota of anything negative about this guy that any of the many people who knew him ever saw in him. And that's the scary thought about this whole ordeal. He must have felt totally at peace with himself with what he had done. Makes you wonder how many more people you have crossed paths with in your lifetime who were hiding as much if not more.

Questioned by his daughters, Weeks informed them that their mother had abandoned them. Weeks sold his limo service in 1971 and married Waunice Hinkle, in Las Vegas, the following year. They were divorced in 1974, but Waunice survived the breakup, probably because of Weeks's new infatuation with 41 year-old Cynthia Jabour. They dated for the next six years, while Weeks maintained his life-style through the sale of phony stock -- almost a million dollars worth -- in sundry "paper" corporations. By the fall of 1980, Cynthia was anxious to be rid of Weeks, and she agreed to meet him for a final dinner date, October 5, to break the news that they were finished. Her car was found next day, in a casino parking lot, but nothing more was seen of Cynthia Jabour. Interrogated by police, Weeks proved evasive, first agreeing to a polygraph exam, then fleeing the United States and surfacing in Chile. Weeks returned in 1981, by way of Houston, with a Libyan passport in the name of "Robert Smith." He set up shop in San Diego, launching a construction business, and in 1983 he met Carol Riley on a trip to Colorado, persuading the 43-year-old divorcee to join him in Southern California. Disillusioned with "Smith" over time, Riley was contemplating a break-up when she vanished on April 5, 1986, after a dinner date with Weeks. Her car was found abandoned in a hotel parking lot. Weeks moved to Tucson, as "Charles Stolzenberg," but he had already attracted national attention. Profiled on an episode of "Unsolved Mysteries," aired by NBC television, Weeks was fingered by neighbors in Tucson and arrested on May 26, 1987. Charged with embezzlement in Arizona, he was held in lieu of $3 million bond. In April 1988, Weeks was convicted of murdering Patricia Weeks and Cynthia Jabour, in Las Vegas. Jurors fixed his punishment as life imprisonment without parole.

He might have died in jail. I checked the Nevada inmate locator and no one by that name appears, nor anything close to the other name, Charles Stolzenberg.

Born in 1929, he would be 78 now, so not unlikely he died in jail after being convicted and sentenced in 1988.

Of course, he could be in jail in another state.

Im racking my brain -but I cant remember the name of the young woman who worked in Logan airport in Boston who was murdered under quite suspicious circumstances. Anyway, I used to work with one of attorneys interviewed (Atty Cinquegrana) I saw this episode after hooking up with all of you unfortuantely -I would have loved to ask him how those tapings/interviews
play out in real time.

Thanks a lot for finding that joemama. A lot more info there than was on the UM broadcast. I do tend to think he must have died as I searched a while back and even had a friend look and we couldn't find anything on him in the prison system in Nevada. I didn't know that he had children.

I can understand why you were taken in though joemama. He looks like a regular guy and he was in essence a conman in addition to a murderer which means he has to be likeable. People don't go into meeting someone wondering if they're a serial killer on the run and no doubt your defenses were down. Its something that could have happened to any of us. Thanks for sharing your story.
