Is that all the stumbling blocks you could come up with, Bootsy? (wink) Well, we could work out the details. For instance: I didn't mean "Mockingbird" had to be the book. Actually, a short stories collection would probably be better for this group and situation. And the reading could take place between now and, say, just after Christmas break. With short stories and that time span, participation would be easier for most of the members. One post would be on the board for any of us to put in our comments. Like if someone just finished one of the stories they might want to say something about it; hopefullly without giving away the ending. Anyway, there is time to feel our way through the idea.

Right now I'm reading "The Once and Future King"..(You know..the book that the movies CAMELOT and THE SWORD AND THE STONE were based on?). I just finished "Hearts in Atlantis: VERY good book.
To Kill a Mockingbird is a VERY good book..I have to read it this year for English..but I first read it in 6th grade (I really like to read). Lets see...after The Once and Future King I think that I'm going to read The Chronicles of Narnia... |

I am reading"Jackie; The Clothes of Camelot" It has many photo's and descriptions of her clothes during her years as first lady.
A must for any Jackie Kennedy fan! I was a very young girl when she was in the White House and even then I thought she was so stylish! I have always been interested in her and have had read almost everything about her! |

I'mreading Lord of The Flies by William Golding. It's basicly about a bunch of Brittish boys who's plane was shot down during WWII and are stuck on an island all by themselves without any adults. It just tells how they are surviving and all and the little things that go on during their time of coping and stuf like that.

Nothing at the moment. Not even in English. We just finished going over Much Ado About Nothing, which we had to read over the summer. I must say, I didn't really find it that great a play. The scenes with Dogberry were funny, and some of the Beatrice/Benedick ones were, but really it was just boring, in my opinion.

And if I recall there's alot more going on than mere survival stories.....there is some deep symbolism in that book. But I don't wanna say too much because I don't wanna spoil it for ya. [This message has been edited by Bootsy Whoosh (edited 10-22-2001).] |

I'm reading The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fritzgerald right now. It's good! Especially what's going on between the characters of Daisy Buchannon and Jay Gatsby.
