I looked his name up on IMDB.com

I wonder why there aren't any later pictures of him after his last movie though...

http://imdb.com/name/nm0064604/

Last movie or show he was in was in 1971...

Thanks for the picture! I've been wondering about this very thing. I haven't had much luck finding pictures, other than LITB.

Here is one picture of the cast with the Doobie Bros on a charity golf outing in 1980.

I saw him make a guest appearance on some show, wish I could remember which one. But all I remember of him was he had a full head of pure white hair.

I recall thinking except for the hair, he didn't look too different from the LITB days.

Jerry wrote in his book how he met Hugh in a store and he had a shock of white hair. He also suffered from Tourette Syndrome and was shouting out obscenities and it was embarrassing. I thought Hugh Beaumont was one of the sexiest men of all time.

The byline captions don't seem to match with that picture!

When Jerry and he recognized each other, Hugh was also embarrassed and they hugged each other. Tourette Syndrome is a disorder where people will often have involuntary movements or may yell. They can also pull at their hair.

The Doobie Brothers/LITB cast reunion picture is from Rolling Stone Magazine---the July 14th, 1977 issue. It is found on the top half of page 35 under the large heading "Random Notes". The picture only has the accompaning words (in bold italics) below it.

A friend showed me the picture when the issue first came out. I asked to make a copy of it, which I did. It has been in a yearbook for decades.

This may be perhaps one of the last public photographs of the group together. It is five years after Hugh's stroke and five years before his death. A late individual photo of him does appear in the "Whatever Became Of..." Series Eight book published in 1982 on page 29. Hugh must have died just prior to them printing it because the last sentence, in parentheses gives the date of his death. The write-up on him addresses his life as if he is still alive.

I'm not entirely convinced Hugh suffered from Tourette's. The episode Jerry describes is after Hugh's major stroke. Verbal outbursts, including swearing can occur in stroke victims. Jerry never mentions Hugh having symptoms working with him as a child.

Hugh had an acting career since 1940, directed, and served as a lay minister. Surely, Tourette's would have put a strain on those endeavors. Also, it is not referenced in his ex-wife's memoirs or many other sources regarding his life.

I had no idea there was that late a picture of them. It's interesting to see how at ease Hugh and Barbara still are with each other. A very nice picture. There's a kindness in how she seems protective of him.

This is from a 1980 cast reunion, so about two years before Hugh Beaumont passed:

Hugh is first seen at the 7:46 mark in this video.
