Perhaps it was too disturbing, even for NBC prime-time viewers...

WOW!!! That 7.0 earthquake that struck Ohio in December of 1990 was a real catastrophe, wouldn't you all agree!

I just thought of a case that I don't recall ever seeing on Lifetime (maybe I'm wrong though, since I don't watch too much Lifetime!)
Remember the story of Lavar Bates? He was interviewed on the show for his reaction after a co-worker of his turned out to be a wanted criminal (I believe it was John Moony, the guy who contracted to kill TK Hardy). Anyway, Lavar's long lost daughter (whom Lavar didn't even know he had) was watching UM that night and was finally able to meet her father after almost 30 years. Now I'm not normally a fan of Lost Love segments, but I love it when an update resolves from another story!

Oh! And the case of Resurrection Mary! I never see that one on Lifetime!

I also like the missing persons episodes. Speaking of which, does anyone know what happened to HYUNJUNG CINDY SONG, a Penn State Univ. student who disappeared after a halloween party? She gave no indications that she wanted to run away or simply vanish. She was looking forward to a concert too. There was no forced entry into her apartment either. Has anyone heard anything about this case?

Wow, I don't remember that at all! I have the TK Hardy story (off of Lifetime though) and don't remember them interviewing a co-worker. Apparently Lifetime has edited the whole thing out.

Another thing about "Debby" shot in the face. Maybe it was so disturbing that people called in to complain the night it originally aired and thus NBC chose not to re-air it. Another possibility is I don't see why RS made a point to mention interracial crime being rare. In my opinion it just gave more attention to the fact that the attacker was black. The color of his skin shouldn't have had any extra focus than anything else. I'm just throwing a few scenarios out there as to why maybe it wasn't shown more than once.

Yes. Song was apparently abducted and murdered by two men who were serial killers in the area. She left her house in her halloween costume and the two men apparently thought she was a prostitute and abducted her thinking no one would miss her. She had been dressed up as a playboy bunny and I thnk one of then was found with one of her bunny ears. I am not sure if they had enough evidence to convict.

I just discovered another case I never saw on Lifetime. While watching UM Favorites volume 6, I saw the original NBC version of the man who fell from a flying plane. After that segment, there was a brief appeal about an unidentified female in Texas. The young woman was hit by a car on 4/28/92 in Houston and rushed to a local hospital. She survived, but suffered a broken jaw, broken leg and brain injuries which left her unable to walk or talk.
The hospital staff dubbed her Estelle. She became a ward of Harris County Social Services in June 1992. In addition to some very depressing footage of Estelle in her hospital bed with her head shaved and what looked like a tube in her throat, a composite drawing of what she may have looked like before her accident was also shown. Estelle was described as being between 18 and 25, 5'6'', 130lbs. She had brown hair, blue eyes and her ears had been pierced.
