Dixie Carter was GREAT as Maggie, but I love Dixie Carter in general. In EVERYTHING that she's done. And I'm GLAD she got fired from DS because I couldn't imagine her not in DW, I couldn't imagine Julia Sugarbaker's tirades not being carried out by Dixie!

She was let go. I got the information from a reliable source. Besides, it happened 17 years ago. It's a thing of the past.

It's real obvious that you and Mary Ann are the same person. Designing Women didn't even premiere untill over a year after Dixie was replaced so it is impossible that she left Diff'rent Strokes for Designing Women. Like it or not Dixie was let go!

This is getting so silly that it is starting to be funny. It's funny how we all are posting all 3 of her identities with backslashes. But sreiously though, I'll continue to check the board and watch after that girl.

It's quite funny noticing that Gary Coleman and Dixie Carter weren't very often in many scenes together, and towards the end of season 7 Maggie wasn't in hardly any episodes.

Hi, my name is Casey, I'm a HUGE Dixie Carter fan. I want to know why people are pretending to be Dixie's daughters, I mean if it was like "I'm the daughter you never heard of" it would be diff'rent but stealing her daughters identities, or trying to I should say is just down right ignorant, but that's my opinion! Back to the subject though, I don't know if Dixie was fired, but I do know Dixie was wonderful as Maggie. I've never seen the ones with Mary Ann Mobley (sp?) because, well it is against my "principles" because Dixie was not in them. If Gary did fire Dixie, that makes me think of him in a whole new light! I mean, it wasn't his show, though he was a character, he shouldn't have had control over that. I read an article recently from Diff'rent Strokes that was published back in the 80s, it said that the producers and Dixie agreed it was best she'd leave the show, but that could have been printed to make Dixie look good, and not to say "he" fired her. Which infuriates me to think that he did that, if he did that!
