Well, networks take away shows other people deem "Best Show in the World" all the time, or don't show them at all. So why should I Love Lucy be different or get superior treatment? Be thankful it's been on this long or is still on at all. And it's getting DVDs, more than a lot of other classic shows can say.

It's just a TV show. Hardly worth WWIII.

Okay, name one show that could be considered the best show in the world that is not on tv right now? I dare you!

Did I say it bothered me? I don't care what show you think is the best in the world. I'm just saying be lucky your fav show is actually shown at all. Other people's shows aren't.

Why is it that if you're not a rabid ILL fan, you're satan to the people on this board?

Considering that this forums topic is ILL...

I don't think that would be considered best show in the world as savy333 put it, infact I don't think most "critics" would put that in the top 20 of best shows (but what do they know...they don't even acknowlwdge the brilliance of Lucy's later work).

TVLand will NEVER let it go, but ILL needs to move to another cable network (perhaps lifetime). Considering the audience ILL can bring in TVLand and Nick at Nite have treated this show horribly for the last couple of years.

to your first statement. This board is for fans of the show of all degrees, from people who love it to people who give it an ocassional passing glance. My point was that a lot of people on this board over the years, not just now, are less than tolerant of the latter.

And savy333 didn't say what the critics think is the best show in the world, and in the original post, I believe lucyrules was refering to the show she thinks is the best in the world, not what the critics think.

Ohhh...you are SO BAD Cathy! Lucy is going to grab your legs at night while you sleep Some people really need to lighten up about the 'greatest show on earth'

No need to roll your eyes, just except that I'm right and the world will be all that much better for you

Bad and possibly mean spirited humor aside, your point was anyone who isn't a "rabid ILL fan" on this board is considered “satan" at this board. My point was (with acknowledgement of the broader explanation you gave in the comment I'm quoting above) This particular forum is mostly populated with the "hardcore Lucy fans", and if you've visited any "fan board" outside of this one, you know when you criticize the topic of discussion in what the "fans" consider "unflattering" they will challenge your opinion...and you might not like the way the challenge you. lol

so again...Considering that this forums topic is ILL...

Your right, he/she said...

"Okay, name one show that could be considered the best show in the world that is not on tv right now? I dare you!"

You answered, Route 66

I said, though you and I'm sure MANY others may love the show many critics wouldn't even put it in the top 20 of "best shows"

Take it another step further; I don't think the general public would consider it among the top 20 greats either. That doesn't mean it's not good, that it doesn't belong in syndication along side ILL, nor that there aren't lots of people that would love to see the show on TVLand, Hallmark, Lifetime.... (LOL, I'm obviously joking about Lifetime).

My point was that wasn't necessarily the best response to what savvy33 asked...

Nope I haven't, but then again this show is not considered the "best show in the world" by many. Which just supports what I said. Any show that is generally regarded as one of the best shows in the world is on tv. That is why it is sad Lucy is hardly on tv. It is a clear choice for "best tv show ever" but still doesn't get a good timeslot on tv.

Yes I agree!

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion on their fav tv show and we have to respect that.
