Was this little girl Bundy's first victim? They knew each other and although he was only fourteen at the time, we all know what he was capable of. It's an interesting theory.

I remember Ann Burr. This doesn't have anything to do with anything, but the parents seemed really cold. I mean, you have this 8 year old girl with a broken arm who is crying because of the pain and they tell her to go back to bed. Pfft.

Here's another girl named Ann that went missing that I remember. Ann Gotlib. 12 year old Russian girl who went missing while she was living in Kentucky. Last seen riding home from the mall. Strong suspect emerged who was known to assault girls and inject them with chemicals.

Apparently her sister was the one with the cast, not Ann Marie. But it does seem kind of harsh to just tell a 3-year-old to go back to bed.

I remember Ann Gotlib. I got serious chills. This guy was a local vet, too, and probably seemed normal and friendly to outward observers. I'm guessing that he approached Ann as she was leaving the mall and somehow coaxed her toward his vehicle. I wonder if he owned pets? That could be a lure to get a young girl to come toward his car if he had a cute looking dog or something.

Here's a series of articles written about Ann. She's been missing for thirty years.

Soft-spoken, mature 9 year old goes missing, seemingly in the middle of the night. Stepfather seems like a nightmare, and while it seems like he abused the boy, I don't think it was ever conclusively proven -- I'm wondering why the school didn't alert authorities or CPS if it were true. He had called his grandmother to ask her to pick him up, so there is a possibility he may have ran away. Not sure what to think on this one.

Difficult to discern as she seems as likely to have run away as to have been a victim of her own boyfriend (who was much older than her, and was convicted of child molestation years later). Any way you slice it, that poor girl experienced some terrible things in her life.

I don't usually like to throw out descriptors like this, but those seem like about the most useless parents I've heard about in a while. When you're perfectly healthy and have to be dragged out of bed to be able to hear anything about your son's welfare, you need to do some serious re-prioritizing.

I hate to suggest this, but does anyone think the mother may know more than she is telling? I find it really suspicious that she would send Clarence to check on Taj when 1) she was afraid of him and was planning to leave him and take the kids with her 2) she knew he did not like her son (and by all accounts Taj claimed to be abused, which I'm sure she would have known about) 3) she knew her son was afraid of Clarence- yet she sent him to make sure Taj wasn't scared of bottles falling over in the middle of the night? That sounds really odd to me. I doubt this is a runaway case. The stepfather was apparently abusive, mentally ill, and stabbed someone. That's too much of a coincidence for me. I'm not saying that the mom was necessarily involved, but her actions that night seem too bizarre, paticularly for a woman who claimed she was planning to leave her abusive husband once she gave birth. I wonder if she didn't hear Clarence hurting Taj or something but was too afraid to do anything.

Yeah, Annette's story does sound too weird to be true. She was 9 months pregnant at the time so I doubt she was involved in the physical sense, but she may have been involved in the planning. It seems like there should be a lot more info on this case. Did they compare the note that Taj supposedly wrote stating he was leaving to known samples of his handwriting? If it's not his handwriting, then that definitely swings it more towards foul play. Would really like to find out more about this case.

Yeah. There's also the part where they all go to the casino and leave him in the care of somebody who was passed out drunk on the couch. Terrific parenting...NOT!

I think the part that upsets me most (out of the many) is that they really seemed apathetic about their son disappearing. It's hard to say what actually happened to him or if they were involved, but even if they're not, the fact that they didn't really seem to care he was missing is just heartbreaking.

Here are some other cases:

This girl was kidnapped from her bedroom and no one in the house heard a thing. http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/..._kemberly.html

Bizarre case from the 60s: http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/r/risch_joan.html

Another case with a young woman working alone: http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/...y_barbara.html

I don't remember the case, but there was one where signs of a struggle were found in the MP's residence, including a tooth! That one really scared me.

Coral Hall, 14 years old - Flint, Michigan

Missing since 1998

Her grandmother has been arrested for her murder although her body has not been found. Police said the grandma has always been a suspect. I don't recall ever reading that. It's kind of important information, since Charley Project says authorities believed she was a runaway who was eventually the victim of a predator.

Coral had called two friends, asking to stay with them because she was trying to get out of her grandma's home due to abuse, but never showed up at either friend's house. Charlie Project says that Coral disappeared while leaving her grandmother's apartment to return a book to a friend living in an apartment upstairs.

I read two articles, linked below. Grandma had a boyfriend who has since died. I don't remember reading anything about him in Coral's case but some people suspect he was also involved in Coral's disappearance.

Coral's mom died of an OD in the 90s and Coral never knew who her father was.

An update to the CORAL HALL case I posted above.

The grandmother admitted beating her to death with a hammer. She and her boyfriend dismembered Coral's body and scattered her remains.

This poor girl was in the process of getting the heck out of that abusive home. She had called two different friends in a desperate attempt to escape and was apparently murdered while one of those friends was on the way to meet Coral and pick her up.

What an evil creature grandma is..... and the live in boyFIEND has died and escaped justice.

That's disgusting. I hope she receives a very appropriate sentence.

There's a suspect in this young woman's disappearance, but the police erroneously closed the investigation at one point: http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/c/copsey_misty.html A series of articles about her case: http://www.thenewstribune.com/the-stolen-child/

A woman, three of her children, and her sister all vanish while preparing for a trip: http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/f/floyd_robby.html I'm curious why the missing woman would introduce someone as her mother, as her neighbor claims she did, when that apparently wasn't the case.

Woman is last seen at the tavern where she worked: http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/...on_brenda.html

A young woman exits a car that she'd been driving after an argument: http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/...cer_karen.html
