Senator "Warnimont" is the only funny and interesting character.

Geroge Gaynes character was Senator Strobe Smithers. I think John and Billy were great! This TV Series is VERY underrated!

The "Warnimont" reference was just a joke from Punky Brewster. Sorry you misunderstood!

I think the first season, when John worked for the senator, was superior to the last two, where he returned to his Southern hometown to work on a newspaper. First of all, does John seem the slightest bit Southern? Also, the clueless senator was the funniest person on the show, and losing him was a big mistake. I liked Wendy Jo Sperber as Billy Bob's wife, too, and she also disappeared when the show moved locales. I could have done without Georgie and her nanny living with John during that season, though -- it just seemed too contrived.
