the shortest spinoff. It only lasted 4 and a half months and wasn't renewed for the following season. It called Blansky Beauties and it aired on ABC as a mid-season replacement in February of 1977. Has anyone ever seen this spinoff?

According to The Complete Directory to Primetime Network and Cable TV Shows book I bought:
"Pat Morita, after the failure of his series "Mr. T and Tina", was added to the cast as Arnold, the same name (and virtually the same character) he had in a similar supporting role on "Happy Days." There he has run a drive-in restaurant, while here he ran the coffee shop at the Oasis. (Nancy, in turn, was supposed to be the cousin of Happy Days' dad Howard Cunningham.) It also lists the cast: Lynda Goodfriend as Ethel "Sunshine" Akalino Eddie Mekka as Joey DeLuca Scott Baio as Anthony DeLuco Pat Morita as Arnold (They didn't give his last name) Now those are clearly not the same characters they played on "Happy Days" and for Eddie, L&S. |

Yeah, I'm sure if it was a spin-off of Happy Days we would all have heard about it...I had no clue...

Nancy Walker appeared on Happy Days as Nancy Blansky on 2-04-77 the very next week, Blansky's Beauties debuted on ABC. I don't consider this show to be a spinoff because obviously the character didn't have time to develope on Happy Days and it doesn't make sense to introduce a character in one episode and give her a show of her own the next week. Mork appeared at least 3 times before Mork & Mindy debuted. Nancy Blansky may have been introduced on Happy Days but that's about it.

I never really understood how this series could be considered a spin-off. Yes, Pat Morita played a coffee shop owner named Arnold (more lack of imagination on the part of the writers then anything) and they came up with this lame connection that Nancy was Howard's cousin, but come on...Happy Days was set in 1950s Millwaukee and Blansky's Beauties was set in 1977 Las Vegas. How is it Arnold and Nancy hadn't aged nearly 20 years?

A perfect analysis of why Blansky's Beauties is not a spinoff from Happy Days.

wasn't Mork and Mindy also set in the 70's? And Fonzie was in the pilot- so unless mork is a good time traveller, how did it happen? Maybe I haven't seen the episode that explains that- I dunno- I've only seen Mork's first happy days appearance/
