Rosanna Arquette has signed with ABC Family to develop a half-hour scripted comedy based on her life.
As-yet untitled project will star thesp Arquette and her real-life best friend Kimberly Beck Clark, as they try to balance their Hollywood lifestyles with motherhood. Scribe Holly Goldberg Sloan ("The Crocodile Hunter: Collision Course") is set to pen the series, which she pitched to the Disney-owned cable net. "It's Rosanna's completely unconventional life," programming VP Robin Schwartz told Daily Variety. "It has the backdrop of the music world, because all her friends are in the music biz, but it's also Rosanna as a mom, which was one of the most appealing factors for us." Aggressively bulking up its original programming slate, ABC Family adds the Arquette project to its previously announced six comedy half-hours in development. ABC Family plans to pick up at least two scripted series for first-quarter 2004 in primetime. |
