Default The Future of the Hallmark Channel?

OK, what do you all think what will happen with the Hallmark Channel in the next few months? I know that "M*A*S*H" is supposed to be coming to the network in September, and they are even airing the promos for it right now. They seem to be focusing more on westerns and mystery shows also. They have the rights to so many shows that they can air, but they seem to refuse to air them. I think they can air a lot more stuff if they did away with the double episodes of hour-long shows during the week. Have you noticed that "Perry Mason" comes on FOUR times a day? That means it, a 60 minute show, comes on 20 times a week. I think they should two of the airings, the two middle airings, meaning the 10:00AM and 1:00PM airings. "Quincy ME," which has been on the network for a couple of months, airs three times a day, and I think they should do away with the 12:00PM central timeslot. I really really enjoy their Mystery Sunday lineup, except for "The Equalizer." I think they should drop it and replace it with "Hart to Hart," assuming that they still have the rights. They could also put "Hart" on the weekday schedule between the first airings of "Mason" and "Quincy." Other than that, the Sunday schedule can stay the same. The Murder at Midnight blocks can stay the same. The westerns, which have all enjoyed runs on the Ruff N Ready Saturday lineup, take up a lot of the channel's airtime. I think that like most of the mystery shows, some of them should be shown ONLY on the Saturday lineup. I think "The Rifleman," "Rawhide," "Marshall Dillon," "The High Chaparall," and "Bonanza" should be the Saturday lineup shows. The only two westerns that would be on the weekday lineup would be "Bonanza," "The Big Valley" and "The Rifleman." The lost episodes of "Bonanza" would air in their respective positions during the run of the show. "Bonanza" would air in place of the 12:00PM, central, episode of "Quincy ME." "The Big Valley" would air in its current slot, and "The Rifleman" would air in place of "Bonanza: the Lost Episodes" at 8:00AM, and 8:30AM, central. As for sitcoms, I think that they need a complete overhaul. From 3:00PM to 6:00PM, they can air sitcoms. The three they should air are "M*A*S*H," "The Facts of Life," and "ALF." And as an extra note, they should air "The Doctors" at 2:00PM and 2:30PM.

FX over plays M*A*S*H as it is, I wouldn't be surprise if the only sitcom Hallmark aired was M*A*S*H

That would be great if Hallmark aired Facts of Life again.

I think Hallmark should have their sitcom block again. That rocked last time. Assuming they have the rights to these shows by September, the sitcom schedule could look like this:

Weekday Mornings:
8:00 AM "Hogan's Heroes"
8:30 AM "M*A*S*H"
9:00 AM "Mork and Mindy"
9:30 AM "The Lucy Show"

Weekday Afternoons:
3:00 PM "The Beverly Hillbillies"
3:30 PM "Hogan's Heroes"
4:00 PM "M*A*S*H"
4:30 PM "M*A*S*H"
5:00 PM "The Facts Of Life"
5:30 PM "The Facts Of Life"
6:00 PM "Mork and Mindy"
6:30 PM "The Lucy Show"

Weekday Late Nights:
1:00 AM: ""M*A*S*H"
1:30 AM: "Mork and Mindy"
2:00 AM: "The Lucy Show"
2:30 AM: "The Beverly Hillbillies"

I'm still crossing my fingers on Hallmark having the rights to "The Lucy Show" even though I am VERY doubtful that they do have them.

I wish some network would air a different Lucille Ball show, I Love Lucy is getting dull to me. I want The Lucy Show back, it is hilarious and very worth watching.

Hallmark has a Paramount deal and a Universal deal, all of those shows that were listed in their survey they had the rights to, they have tons of shows that they have the opportunity to air, but most of them haven't even aired yet on Hallmark, (one of them being The Lucy Show). I have also heard that Mork and Mindy is also supposably coming to Hallmark this Fall/Winter. Also according to a section on Hallmark's website, they list My Favorite Martian as "Our Shows", they must have acquired the rights after TV Land dropped the show, so maybe they'll get to airing that show sometime soon. I hope they bring back "Comedy Kick-Back", they had some great shows in that block.
