Under most conditions I'm not a fan of Columbia House for the simple reason that they price gouge. However, a few things have happened recently that compelled me to sign up for this particular series:
1) The WB has refused to release the Batman dvds in season sets, choosing instead to offer high priced single releases that only contain 4 episodes. 2) CH has now chosen to put 6, instead of just 4, episodes on each disk they release. That's a big difference in the long run. 3) CH has come down from their previous prices. Now, instead of dvd's costing $24.99 plus postage, they only cost $19.99 plus. Between the $5.00 reduction per disk, and the added two episodes per disk, I feel that makes this worthwhile. On top of that, I got the first disk free (just paid shipping), and when you average that into what it would cost to get the same amount of episodes from WB, it makes it worthwhile for sure. The Batman series was truly one of the best cartoons ever made, IMHO. I'll be getting the whole set. B&W "the only concern now is that CH produces all the disks, and doesn't stop somewhere in the middle like they've done so many times with other series they've offered" fan |
