Post This Show Stunk When Madeline Left.

I really liked this show when Madeline Kahn was on it, but directly after she left, the series was totally stupid and unfunny. I didn't like it anymore. It was such a shame that she had to go, because it would probably still be running today if she was on it.

I already know that. She died from Ovarian Cancer on December 6, 1999. She died from the same cancer that Gilda Radner died from.

I wouldn't say it stuck I think it was kind of boring without her. I think the only one with out her that was funny was when Hilton had trouble sleeping. And all along it was Ruthie that was keeping him awake with her snoring.

If you compare an episode with Madeline in it to one without her, it becomes obvious how much she added to the show. When the show lost Madeline, it also lost its focus, and the episodes turned into unrelated sketches that went nowhere. A plot would be established in the opening scene, and then suddenly, there would be a long, boring stretch of business at the dinner table that had nothing to do with the episode. Also, as funny as Doug E. Doug is, he went way too over-the-top with his shtick late in the series. I kept watching the show, and I still laughed sometimes, but... it wasn't the same.
