Default Question For Pav = Hallmark Channel Rights

Hi
I was just wondering if you had any insight on how Hallmark is negotiating rights for shows. Bewitched & Jeannie have only been on for a year and 4 months and are gone. Did they have a longer contract and TV Land re-aquiring rights force them to end their contract early or do they simply negotiate on a episode run basis
Also any idea of their terms with Paramount, how long can we expect these shows to be on before they are gone
thx in advance

I think Hallmark had Bewitched and Jeannie since around June 2001, but started airing it in August 2001 when they became the Hallmark Channel. TV Land gets both of these in June 2003. So Hallmark only had a 2 year deal.

Thx Pav, one last question, if they do have a 2 year deal any idea why they won't continue running these until June 2003 instead of ending them at the end of the year.
Any more info on Paramount shows hitting Hallmark in 2003.

Thanks again for all the fantastic work and information you've provided on this site, it is greatly appreciated

Hmm, great question. I know for a fact they have it until December 31st, 2002. So maybe they have had it since before June 2001, maybe Jan 2001. I'm not too sure though. It's a 2 year deal for sure.

The Hallmark January and beyond should be coming in soon!

Ditto, I'm also very anxious to see The Facts of Life and possibly Mork & Mindy on the schedule, I heard it will possibly be on the schedule by January, but if not I will hope it may come soon. But over all, I just hope The Facts of Life will be on the schedule once again.

Ditto on that one. Even if they brought FOL back on weekends, or early morning I wouldn't care, LOL.

I am really hoping they add Mork and Mindy in January. I can't wait to see it again.

In January, I'd like to see Saturday morning versions of their comedy blocks. Something like this: (central)

10am: "Bevery Hillbillies"
10:30: "Hogan's Heroes"
11am: "Facts of Life"
11:30: "Mork & Mindy"
12pm: "Here Come the Brides"

That'd be great, IMO. And maybe they can throw in an episode of "ALF" and "My Three Sons" too!

No kidding. My number one thing for them to do is bring back Facts, but other than that, I hope they pick up some other sitcoms. Ya know, something better and not as overplayed Hillbillies. But if they at least bring back Facts, I'll be a happy camper.

Hallmark should put on "THE DOCTORS" since they have the rights...
